So let's see if I understood this.... you know what to expect from stewards, but you come in after drinking, go over the top, and yet - you're *shocked* to get turfed out?
I doubt there was any bad language on top of everything else.

In the last couple of weeks I've got the distinct impression that some of the stewards are getting on the job training by imposing themselves on soft targets. Certainly seemed to be the case at the the R&D cup game when the stewards appeared to be unduly on the case of the away fans. Something they didn't dare do at the Leeds or Charlton match. And the lad last night, who was sat directly one row behind me, was guilty of nothing more than being loud on a quiet night. If his mate hadn't said on here that he'd been drinking, you wouldn't have known. He wasn't being lairy, he was just pissed off at our defence rolling over once again. His only crime was being louder than most. Don't think he was even swearing. And the fact that two of the younger stewards were sent up to evict him seems to suggest that they were being given gentle on the job training in how to throw somebody out. Which is not on.

I realize this will not be a popular post with all people, but I'm going to put it to you for consideration;
A man goes to a public social gathering where there are other men, as well as women and children. It doesn't have to be church - this could be at one of a variety of entertainment venues - a nightclub, concert, olympic basketball...take your pick.
Said male happens to have been drinking, and is loudly shouting, angrily at the entertainment, he is also gesticulating and shouting at some other area of the public - rudely and aggressively. His state is obtrusive, probably because he has been drinking.
When the word 'antisocial' comes in, is it not reasonable to say that term suggests; 'to work against a social gathering' ?
Where in any social gathering, is it completely acceptable, and which of the above mentioned gatherings deems it so?
Even in a pub, where drinking is actually encouraged and made readily available - is it acceptable to shout at, say the dart players, aggressively?
How about the pool table - walk up to the players and shout "wankers" at them for missing a shot?
At a night club, where you paid to get in, and it's acceptable to drink - is it okay to shout aggressively, and act somewhat 'over the top'? (without necessarily trying to aggravate and goad another group of people)
Many of you will have answered these questions in your own minds already, but I'll ask a vital last question all the same;

I suspect that the lad who got chucked out was guilty of being lairy, giving the stewards a hard time and using a bit too much abusive language. It may be that they sent a couple of stewards to 'have a word' with him who then noticed beer breath on him so decided to eject him.
No objection to people having a drink before the game, but its all about limits isn't it?

Just for the records. He shouted a couple of words after we conceded are second goal. Even though therre was plenty of hours shouting similar things he was asked to go down the front because they wanted a word with him. He didnt question this and done as they told him too. When he went down there they said they was going to eject him for abusive language. They said he can either make a big fuss of it and get banned or go quietly and come back next home game. He did ask for a warning but the stewards were not having it. He said he would walk because he ovbiously didnt want a ban.

I go in the family stand with my boy.
Few weeks ago, we were having a general chat about nothing at half time with 2 stewards by the club shop.
All of a sudden, one of them ran off quicker than Usain Bolt.
I asked the remaining one why, and he told us someone was being ejected from J block.
He sprinted from the family to J, like he was the frigging SAS.
Was he the only one able to deal with it? He must have loved every moment.

The lad that got chucked out yesterday didn't deserve it at all, He gets behind the team and is very vocal! The Steward come up to him and said 'Can i have a word fella' The lad never complained just did what the steward said and never returned. In my opinion the fact he got chucked out was a total joke i couldn't tell he was drunk and he was only showing some passion for the team he loves when his team went 2-0 down i think the stewards a total disgrace! The prawn sandwich brigade should stop having a go at H block aswell when you lot start singing and getting behind the team then i will listen!

not at all, after watching Brighton for over 35 years, i have seen much worse than this and much better. brighton fans have never been able to consistently create a huge atmosphere....I remember many times at The Goldstone where the atmosphere was dreadful...Mike Bailey's reign for example when we were in the First Division ( premiership to you) we had the best results in our history yet, we struggled to get any atmosphere going.
the only time you get a good atmosphere is away from home at grounds that have roofs...do you remember Bristol City back in 2001?
