Why do people think that the same rule will apply to both sets of supporters? In an ideal world yes, but unfortunately thats just not how it works. Firstly, there are about 200 people in H Block that stand up. The majority of (myself included) are kids, therefore the stewards are going to have a field day when they want to DO THEIR JOB and tell people to sit down. I like standing as much as the next person, but Christ on a bike, work it out! 1000 pissed up northerners reknowned for their support in the pissing rain miles from the pitch in a shit temporary stand, is nowhere NEAR as easy as getting one block of Albion to sit down. You may not like it, I certainly don't, but thats just how it is!

H block was crushed by the stewards again last night, leading to another shit atmosphere around the stadium and another home defeat.

The singing section should never have been put in place as it leaves the rest of the ground full of misery guts and leaves the stewards to enforce laws that needn't be there if there was no H block.

It's not the stewards fault themselves it is the people organizing them. I say hello to the same stewards at every game and it is quite apparent they would rather have a different set of rules and are quite annoyed at having to enforce them when they know that they will just face flack as the away fans stay standing.

They should shove the team that are at H block at the moment over to the away end or at least spread them out.

The Facebook group about stewards is the funniest thing i've read in a long time.

They really think standing at football is the be all and end all

I really do not like to speak bad about anyone, especially a fellow fan.
But you really are one miserable fucker.
If they want to stand and create an atmosphere than leave them be.

Seconded. I used to see SOME reasoning to his arguments but since he started playing the "im not miserable" card shit pours out of his mouth like a porn star pours...

:dunce:

You just can't handle the fact that I think that 80% of the people in the singing section are thick idiots who can't handle the concept of an all seater stadium and the fact that stewards are employed to do a job, and I state this in every one of these identical pathetic threads that appear after every home game from a singing section dick.

No offence.

The away fans seem to be able to stand all game without anyone being slung out can someone explain this?

Quite simple ... if they sat down their view of the game is so piss poor, they'd be better off staying at home and listening to the radio.

No, to understand why people like to stand at football matches.

Just out of interest, do you live in Lindfield?

Oh I understand why people like to stand. Hell, I like to stand. But I accept i'm not allowed to.

I just hate the way these fans spend the entire game moaning that they are being told to sit down, then start a thread on here complaining about it every week.

I don't live in Lindfield anymore, why?

The FACT is that the stewards at Withdean are pathetic.
I have been to loads of away games over the years and i rate our stewards right up there with the worst.
They are quite happy to try and make 20 Rushden fans sit down but if its Millwall or Leeds they are non existant.
I actually praise all those in H Block for trying to create an atmosphere and they in my opinion are doing no harm if they want to stand.
Just remember that most games there are about 3 thousand empty seats so if you are not happy move to another block.

It's true, we are so awful we managed to slip sedatives in the coffee of some powers-that-be, and keep getting awards for good work at Withers. That and the stability - in a sensitive populated area - to maintain Brighton and Hove Albion F.C. in a borrowed stadium for much longer than was desired and predicted!
The by-the-book stewarding that keeps the Football Association overseers happy is so incredibly awful that we are totally the reason that The Albion are losing at home. I mean, who else can you really blame for this mess?

I blame McGhee :tantrum:

The large majority of stewards are utter wank and have no or very little understanding of how to control a football crowd, FACT.

Bring back Gold Range, least they had brain cells.

When willl the idiots in H block realise that Withdean is an all seate stadium, and standing is not allowed! I sat there for about 9 seasons from when the singing section was devised until this year. The reason i moved was because about 80% of the people there do not seem to watch the football, but spend the whole game either abusing the away fans or the stewards. Support the Albion, stand if there is something exciting happening, which the stewards would not object to, but sit down afterwards.

To be fair at a large number of grounds in the country, clubs just let areas of the home fans stand without hassle. Don't see why our club couldn't just turn a blind eye to a few standing either.
