There were positives from the new boys tonight I thought.

Dahoud was very good and his fitness has definitely improved already. Igor was decent. Baleba is obviously raw and made some errors tonight but looks a real force in midfield.

And I know he should have scored once, maybe twice tonight, but I really like Pedro. He is so dangerous, always looking to make things happen and usually does. As against AEK he was very much our main/only threat. Still raw in some areas but I think he’s such an exciting talent and will be a superstar.

Even with the inter web, and doing some cheating. I have no idea what that means 🤣
DO you know what wood is? I know it's a rare material these days. . . . Especially for anyone under 35

we had a player named, traditionally, after a trade Which used to use this ancient material. No offence, It was in the aulden days 😬

It’s just early days. So many new players who all need to learn how to play not only De Zerbi’s style, but to adjust to the pace of the PL. They’ve only really been here a few weeks and they haven’t played alongside each other before.

It’s going to show for a while but as they get used to it, it will improve.

Listening to Radio Sussex for the first time in ages as couldn’t get a stream. For about 90% of the time you have absolutely no idea what is happening on the pitch. Awful commentary.
I like their commentary, after listening to them for years I found it hard to adjust to streams. If I turned my back to the pc & just listened then I'd have no clue what was happening either. Team JC & Warren here, they're also very bias towards Brighton which is good.

Dahoud is a wonderful player but has even worse goalscoring instincts than Lallana.

Thought we controlled the first half, missed two must-score chances with dreadful misses. Once you’ve done that, it’s very hard to overcome sometimes and it creeps into the mentality. Chelsea looked extremely nervous and the fans sounded it too. Sanchez was a liability and their defence hugely shaky.

Second half they came out fired up and were winning all the 50/50’s they had been losing in the first half. After their goal they went man for man and truly did an excellent job on us, looking organised and structured in a way they didn’t in the first half.

All in all, we can’t have too many complaints given our disappointing second half and appalling finishing in the first half. We looked very leggy from around 65-70 minutes and they had their tails up. Cucurella was superb for them in that second half, and Jackson started showing flashes of quality including a clinical finish.

Some disappointing individual performances tonight; Dahoud in particular looked slow to everything, lots of silly freekicks and overplaying tempered with the occasional nice touch or good cross. Not dreadful, but a downgrade on last season naturally. £115m difference - I’m not so sure - but not in the same league.

Finally, the referee and his assistants had a dreadful game for both sides. Four times(!) he stopped play progressing in an attacking area to give a freekick in a neutral area. Twice for each team. Constantly ignored dissent/balls being thrown/kicked away to prevent restarts. We got away with a number of drag backs/trips when pressing, as did Chelsea.

The big one of course being two awful tackles from Ugochuku. The first one was borderline - “orange” card if you will - the second should’ve been a straight red. How he wasn’t even booked (and subsequently sent off) I have no idea as replays showed Mr. Bramall had a perfect view and was looking directly at the incident.

He had a very poor game tonight.

Final word for our fans who sounded incredible throughout (through the stream at least!).

Disappointing and onward to Saturday. Hoping Fati wasn’t brought off injured due to that shocking tackle, but I fear he was. We need him for Saturday.

Also concerned for a few other players who looked like they were struggling a little with knocks/fatigue.

Less said about buonotte again the better
Dahoud some nice touches but a lot crap again
Igor average

Bounce back Saturday
Bit harsh thought Goodnight was actually ok at times. Think there’s a player in there but certainly young and raw

I wasn’t tuned into thinking in those lines at all. I was thinking of a chippy as in a fish supper 🤣
