Tom Foolery where we went first did lots of different plates but nothing that resembled a full E. The cafe that used to be Toast did an English burrito 🤷🏻‍♂️. I don’t get out much and had been looking forward to a full E all week before looking for an 18th birthday present for my daughter. An expensive morning all round 😢
Sammy’s on the high street do a fry up. Never had it though so cannot attest to its quality.

There is also a cafe near the Wellie that looks traditional. Again, never eaten there though.

The breakfast Burrito in Drift is good. As is the breakfast menu in Teddies.
The eggs Benedict deluxe is a star of their menu.

But yeah, none of it is cheap.

I’m a big advocate of everyone enjoying what they enjoy without criticism. There’s no room for dogma when it comes to food.

However, for me, you can’t beat a big mug of tea with brekkie.
The Full English is disappearing from Shoreham. Don’t get me started on the decline of Shoreham.

The Goerge up by Holmbush does a good all you can eat breakfast buffet with bottomless mug for about £8.
👍 I think you have just arranged my Father’s Day breakfast at The George. 👏

Since I obviously have very different habits (big, savoury breakfast is the complete opposite of what we have here in the morning), do you guys eat this type of breakfast every day or is it just for Sundays/festive days?
For me it's my 'treat'.
My fry ups are never impromptu, there's always an element of planning which is code for 'looking forward too', with also a degree of them being earned.

I'll dig the garden tomorrow and go out for brekkie the next morning.

I was quite reserved, perhaps 1 a month or 6 weeks.
But as I keep gloating, since moving I'm spoilt for choice, so that's come down to 1 a month, maybe 2 max.

for most its a weekend or occasional thing. some in trades, manual work, might still set out for work on this daily. probably not eating much for lunch after a full english.

Yeah, if I have a full English I don’t even think about food again until about 3pm

When our culinary adventure moves onto roast pork, it's very unlikely I'll forget, but if I do someone must remind me, I have a roast belly of pork recipe on The YouTube which is so filthy it's borderline porn

When I still lived in Brighton in the early 90’s I remember the gut buster- I couldn’t do that now !!!

My favourite go-to for a large fried breakfast was The Elm Grove Cafe but I do remember for a time having great breakfasts in The Dumb Waiter

First thought when I saw this thread though was definitely The Elm Grove ✅

Baked beans in a little pot is always offered with an English breakfast. Also mushrooms.
By the way a Welsh breakfast is exactly the same an an English so the first word refers to where you buy rather than the contents. Personally I detest tomatoes and black pudding so the rest of it more than suffices.
I knew there was something odd about you.

Bacon, sausage, mushrooms, fried egg(s), black pudding and toast or a fried slice. Bubble is fine but it makes it a Bubble Breakfast, not a full English. Beans are ok if you really want them so long as they’re served in a separate ramekin on the other side of the plate to the egg - and not allowed to touch the egg. Personally, I prefer without.

Hash browns can do one. Utterly awful food crime. Tomatoes are just exaggerated beans that will make the plate soggy. Tinned ones taste like shit. Fresh grilled ones will still be nuclear in the middle when you want to leave. No thanks. Save for a pasta sauce.

A proper Englishman would have the whole thing with builders tea, milk with one. I’m not, so I have black coffee.

Hey, I’m only nearly perfect.

The greatest fry up I have ever had was The Pile Up from Harry’s English Restaurant on Church Rd. I was there most Sundays devouring this. I was gutted when he closed.

Unfortunately some of the food for a full English breakfast is not exactly healthy . Get rid of the unhealthy bacon & black pudding and replace with smoked salmon and avocado to bring yourself and your heart into the 21st century.

A decent hash brown can be great on a breakfast plate.

I think most people think of those triangular, frozen brown shapes. Or the weird, half cooked pap that McDonalds serves up.

I mean a proper, home made hash brown with chunky onion and spuds. With an egg yolk oozing over the top of it. Lovely.
