It has been rumoured Potter has a £16m buyout clause in his contract, how much a year do you think he is currently on. I would have thought 1 or 2m a year, but i clearly have no idea. How much would Mauricio Pochettino want each year? Would he be interested in a new building project, albeit outside of the European competitions... for this year.

Think Swanny said it was £10 million a season.

That is a lot. Worth the gamble on Poch? Probably not.

Seems crazy to say but I think Bloom might think his sail has set. And he'd be off, unquestionably, after even a hint of success here.

Possibly the only time we'll be looking for a new manager with the club in the top 4 of the Premier league, coming off a five goal win and a squad of players everyone is cooing over.

So probably not the time to offer the role to an unknown up and comer, this is the time we can get a talented, experienced manager to take us to the next level....

I have a feeling it will be Karl Robinson. Family on my wifes side are Oxford fans and been raving about the amazing football he has had them playing. Very Potteresque

I think you're right. I think we might be surprised by this one. The league is a huge draw. It wouldn't surprise me if our next manager comes from a European team who historically are much bigger than us.

Genuinely don't think it will happen this time. Not now, after the last year. We aren't that team anymore.
Hamberg or Reid?

Potter has a team. It's vital to the way he works- no way are they not leaving too.

Over the last year we've made 000s of millions in the transfer market without spending hardly any of it. Yes we were/are in debt, yes Bloom is sensible about money, but this feels like the right thing to spend money on right now- everything else is set up. Losing DA and then replacing GP with a lower league manager is such a huge risk.

His transfer dealings this summer look a bit suspect, although not sure if that's him or the owner.

According to the article that was some ex palace/pompey guy, bringing in a load of past their best PL players on frees and loans, many against Favre's wishes they say. One of the reasons he could be tempted perhaps.

It was the same when he was at MK, very good football without actually getting the results. Think we will be looking at a higher level of manager this time around.

One thing is for sure- given the size of our club and our rapid development there's going to be applicants for this job from everywhere from the conference to the champions League. Bloom et al are going to have a lot of CVs to get through.

Exactly this. The one thing that Potter will be able to claim if he walks at this point is that he left us in that position. It's time to reinvest some of the money in getting someone who can keep us top 10, flirt with Europe and make it stick. On a small playing budget. Easy!

I'd like to see Ange P succeed Potter.

He is a similar manager to Potter n that he sticks to his footballing philosophy of implementing an attacking, entertaining and possession style game, and has a good track record nearly everywhere he has been:

4 x Australian league champions (as manager)
Set an unbeaten record in Australian sport (not just football, but inclusive of rugby league and Australian rules football) as Brisbane Roar manager
Won the AFC Asian Cup with Australia (UEFA Euro equivalent)
J League champion
Scottish Premier League and Cup champion

All while playing an attractive style of football and not really a big spender.

But I'm not sure if he could be convinced to leave Celtic at this time. Villa were able to pry away Gerrard after a successful season at Rangers, so maybe there is hope for us too.

God No, he is a gobshite, and we need several levels above his talent at the moment, we are sitting fourth, with excellent backing, infrastructure & a squad full of talent, we are a catch for someone with ambition already at a proven level.

A Welsh Tuchel …. But without the footballing brain
