Potter's was stated as being £20m I think, or there abouts, but that fee was quoted as being for him and all the staff he took.

I doubt De Zerbi is currently being paid as much as Potter was before he left, so makes sense that his release clause would be lower

correct according to media outlets - but now it would apparently cost £20m to lure him away from Chelsea (although presumably not if he got fired then GP would be very heavily in pocket for termination of a contract worth upwards of £50m!)

Don’t think we have any ‘release clause’ in any contracts. It’s more a compensation thing. They are tied to contracts aren’t they? Release clause in this context is just compensation no?

I would expect we would have looked to add a compensation figure into his contract, which his agent would have been sensible to keep as low as possible.

It's not a reflection on whether the club valued him less than Potter
