The legal age to drink is 18, but most have a drink before this age
Actually, I believe the legal age to drink is 5. Weird I know. I think the idea is that your kids are allowed a sip of your wine etc, but they're not even allowed to do that before they're 5.

Is anyone here actually doing that? It is quite amusing that Zaha is clearly nowhere as good as Palace fans made out, but that's it.
Can you try and stay on topic.

Hmm, i think that is where i went wrong. After watching back to back episodes of Thomas The Tank, i needed a drink, maybe letting the 5 year old have a scoop would have been the way to go..........i reckon iv'e been a bad parent.

Must be bad when a baby faced Belgium kid has stolen your role.

Forest are his only option, no one else will break FFP rules so blatantly, and Moyes doesn't rate him.

Can you show me the rock solid evidence that it is? and not the one you first linked to as the Dr in questioned has contradicted that himself

Why do you want rock solid evidence that it effects children, when you are happy to let your son see it when there isn't rock solid evidence that it doesn't?

Just for the record, it seems that the experts don't think it is suitable for 5 year olds as it is an 18 certificate. I'm pretty sure they didn't just pluck that age out of nothing.

My sister works with young kids and is highly respected by the people around her (including the authorities). She is no psycologists but she has been taught how kids learn and what affects their development.

I think we are all missing the major point here.

This poor little sod is gonna have to watch Crystal Palace for he rest of his life. Again there is no actual scientific evidence that this turns you into a moron but if there were I would like to put Eaglesdestroyseagulls up as exhibit one.

Right - I am off out. My 5 year old daughter is driving me and the missus to Eastbourne as we are both drunk.

Lol, I would much rather my son play a war game than learn about two men doing things to each other. One is what all boys play when they are young, the other is unnatural.

He was to be taught sex education that included same sex relationships, I never let him learn either.

You're just too much. I genuinely don't know whether you are trolling or just as thick as pig shit. So tell me how does one choose their sexuality? (this should be good).

I'm an Occupational Psychologist with two degrees in the subject. There is evidence that suggests that it does affect their development, although it will always be debated (the nature of psychology). If interested, look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobo_doll_experiment

Knowing what I know about psychology, I definitely would not let my kids play those sorts of games.

Yes I do and that is my choice so do not preach to me. I used to play cowboys and indians when I was younger, I also used to watch horror films. My son can tell the difference between something that is not real and something that is. What exactly is you're problem? is it the fake blood? the people getting killed? which he can see on tv and in most action films anyway

So presumably you would also allow your five year old child to watch hard core pornography, after all it's just another action film innit.

Do you have any scientific or research based evidence that supports your view that same sex relationships are 'unnatural'?

You may see it as just an action film but that probably says more about you than me.

I've really got no comeback. This is just a football forum and none of it matters, your 5 year old does. If you can't see the damage you're doing in letting him play those games and watch those films you've described then that's so sad - and that's not from a rival fan but from one dad to another.

What films are those then?

The ones where people get killed and there's blood.

is it the fake blood? the people getting killed? which he can see on tv and in most action films anyway

And the ones where people get punched

I let him watch most tv/films within reason, if he he see's someone get punched on tv he does not then go and punch someone else, but who knows he may have been taught gow to behave not just by not watching the right tv.

Those types of films. He's only 5 FFS. Have a word with yourself.

As far as evidence is concerned, I would suggest that same sex relationships or being attracted to the same sex is perfectly natural to humans and the animal Kingdom. Afterall, same sex attractions are far more prevalent than say red heads.

If you are going to describe anal sex as unnatural, then throw in oral sex, bondage, masturbating and what-have-you.

I'd be very concerned to learn that a child is being taught that homosexuality is unnatural and wrong. You will certainly not be the first port of call, if your son discovers he fancies men.

I could not give a monkeys if you were concerned about that or not. They are not taught about homosexuality at all, the way I see it is people can do whatever they wish to do. They are not asking me to like it and I am not asking them to check with me if it is okay, but in the same token I have the right to believe it is not nice. No need for a big debate, once again it is upto the person involved.
