Didn't have a great game last Saturday (or the week before) and looked down when subbed off. This season he seems to bounce back from bad performances with a goal.

Didn't Barnes and Mackail Smith both play up top at Ipswich? with Barnes actually playing as a striker.

What people sometimes fail to grasp is - when we're playing well and on the front foot - we play 433. 451 is when we're either being too slow, are getting pressed and pushed back. When we're on top of games, we play 3 up top.

Will Buckley up top been saying it for ages

It should have been an option. I am not sure he is right man against Derby though.

My current favourite combination is Barnes up front with Macca in a deeper role and Buckley out wide with Orlandi (or Vicente) as the interiore.

I am not sure that this explanation is right though. The idea of the interior winger/creative midfielder is because it is nigh impossible to play on both wings at the same time, it is still possible to have two wide men on the pitch. One tucks inside whilst Buckley rampages forward. Then Wayne Bridge can go forward if the play switches from one side to another. I don't give credit to Wenger or Gus for this. This is more like Capello thinking.
