Right, a month or so to the start of the 2020/21 Premier League season and still in the midst of this awful pandemic. So in these abnormal times a thread of almost normal views (if that is at all possible on NSC!) of your predictions as to how it will pan out in the League. Quite simple really, your choice of who will finish in the top three, in order, and ditto for the bottom three, and finally where will the Albion find themselves at the end.
So, for me, top three - 1. Man City 2. Man Utd 3. Liverpool.
City I reckon will be unstoppable, United are at last looking a force to be reckoned with, Liverpool I feel will suffer from a title hang over.
Bottom three - 20. West Brom 19. Burnley 18. Crystal Palace.
West Brom because there’s room for only one Albion! Actually I just think that one promoted side will always struggle - sorry Baggies. Burnley for the reason that Sean Dyche will either leave or that (like Eddie Howe at Bournemouth) he and the team have become stale and not be able to replicate the resilience of previous years. Crystal Palace - on the basis of their woeful finish to the season just gone and can Roy still keep going? Methinks not.
Our beloved Albion? 12th. After lockdown we looked a competent team, and, an improving one at that. The future looks bright and under Graham Potter I can see us achieving our highest ever position in the top tier.
A couple of other mentions - teams to do well (not top three) - Wolves, Southampton, Chelsea. Strugglers - Villa (again), Sheff Utd, I just think they’ll suffer the dreaded second season syndrome, Fulham perhaps, and Newcastle because of all the uncertainty of ownership.
There you go, over to you!
