We have added 'I believe in Father Christmas' by Greg lake to our song list for a gig we are doing on Dec 21st.
I think my top 3 would have to be:
Jona Lewie -Stop in the Cavalry - purely because of the "DUBBA DUBBA DUM DUM, DUBBA DUBBA DUM...."
Chris Rea - Driving Home for Christmas - it's a classic
this with Fairytales as my third choice
Wasn't specifically written for Christmas but Jona Lewie's Stop The Cavalry for me.
I think this is level in the top spot with Spaceman.
I believe in father Christmas - Greg Lake
Closely followed by..........
Innocents song - Show of hands
Innocents Song! Bit too jolly for me, how about "Crow On The Cradle"?
What about some Christmas Album recommendations?" Three in recent years are worth a listen, "Tinsel and Lights" by Tracey Thorn, "Strange Communion" by Thea Gilmore and "Funny Looking Angels" by Smith and Burrows. I believe even Erasure have released one this year and the new Nick Lowe "Quality Street - A Seasonal Selection For All The Family" is excellent but then he does nothing but imho.
