Yet another plea for restaurant advice

We have Dutch friends who have spent quite a lot of time in the UK but have not been to Brighton before. They are visiting us for a week-end from Holland, and the plan includes Sunday lunch. Advice would be welcome for a good quality restaurant, but not exorbitant, with a lively atmosphere. Something with a traditional menu.

Ginger Pig or Ginger Fox, depending on how far you want to travel. Otherwise the Townhouse on St James's Street is quite smart and good food.

Is £15 each exorbitant? I'd imagine it would be easier to catch up there as opposed to a bustling city centre pub.

Partridge at Partridge Green does passable pub food,is the weekend home of the Lycra Louts so you can click the "all Dutch ride Bicycles"bit and Dark Star beer will make a pleasant change from Jopen.

The roast at the Lion and Lobster is decent and the place is always heaving. Best to book.

Take them for a pub roast on Sunday, don't even bother with somewhere poncey, it's a great bit of Brighton culture.

Loads of good places round there, I used to like coopers cask and the hove tavern.
