Can you expand please. Have always thought Wilkins had created a decent team out of the waif and strays of Sussex.
Anybody who thinks that removing wilkins from the manager position (he was offered the chance to remain as coach) was entirely that of Knight probably won't understand that the major decisions did have Bloom influence at that time as it was just a year before Tony Bloom became chairman

As I understand it, there were issues about undertaking key actions that a manager should do e.g handling the retained list conversations, representing the clubs position in contract negotiations etc

Can anyone top Leicester City and Ruud? Or even get close?
I read the other day he's the first manager since the 1950s (not sure if top flight or anywhere) to oversee two seven-game losing runs with the same team in a single season. And he only rocked up at Filbert Street (or whatever it's called) at the end of November :lolol:

Birmingham sacking Gary Rowett when they were just outside the play-offs on GD and replacing them with Zola, who had them in 20th and only out of the relegation zone on GD when he resigned four months later.

Also Birmingham sacking John Eustace, who had them in the play-offs, and replacing him with Rooney who lasted 15 games and was the catalyst for their relegation last season.

I'd still argue Van Nistelrooy is the worst appointment ever, mind.
Pardew at West Brom is worse.

I think you mean the “Walkers Crisps Stadium” don’t you?

Circumstances old boy, Dick was going to rock the football world with a 6pm press conference at The Grand Hotel to unveil a genuine 'wow' appointment, who promptly pulled out in the afternoon, hence the Chairman's phone call to MH around 4.30.

Two huge factors that summer.

All credit to Peter Taylor for going when he did, he could have collected at least two months money before saying on the eve of the season what he did back in May.

We will never know how Hinsh would have fared that season, if him and Bob had a full pre season, very fine margins, even in the run of straight defeats.
Taylor almost didn't come to the div 2 championship trophy parade. He'd notified his intention to resign the day before.

However some very grown up conversations between Knight, Taylor and Perry ensured his presence and then a calm measured resignation which is subsequent interviews he took the opportunity to make the case for falmer

Juric for Martin. IMHO the least charismatic, most inept manager in my lifetime.
You're the third person that's posted this. They replaced someone who was out of his depth with someone else who was out of his depth, I'm not even sure it's a bad decision

They have lost their last 5 league away games 2-1, 2-0 , 4-0 , 1-0 & 2-0 . Any guesses when they will score and break that run ?
