Funny you should mention that, I was browsing through my books earlier to find some that I haven’t read or could reread I might just stick to work though.

I have crates and crates of books in the garage that need sorting. Got to be some gems there.

As I understand it, the 68 year old gets £200. The working 60 yr old gets nothing as the WFA is paid to the household.
When the 60 year old retires, and income drops, they get £100 each.

My wife’s family are Irish, we are visiting our in laws ( my wife’s sister and her husband) they have a property in Brighton and a small farm here in Wicklow, we have their friends here for the day visiting, we were chatting about the WFA being reinstated in the UK when the friends informed us that the WFA here is 33 euros a week payable from October to April ! The Christmas bonus in the UK is the princely sum of £10 the Christmas bonus payment is a full weeks extra pension payable to every pensioner in December. Seems like other countries appreciate their elderly community.
For Gods sake don’t tell Mustafa 11 he’ll have a complete meltdown

Britain’s state pension is way down amongst European countries. As I pointed out previously, it is less than the living wage.

I had a text today claiming to be from the DWP saying I have ‘been assessed’ as qualifying for £200-300 fuel payment and to follow the ‘link’ to make a claim.

Obviously a scam but just a heads up to say they are doing the rounds. Warn your elderly folk.

Most of us know and have been warned. The scam has been running for twelve months or so.

First time I‘ve received it and the Government only announced the change a few days ago bringing millions more pensioners into the qualifying criteria so it will catch out more people.

My mother on law is on 33k, Plus she gets the attendance allowance (untaxed), she getting almost 3k a month in the hand

Make that 3025 a month. Yes she needs the winter fuel allowance
