I have just read the latest atrticle in the Albion section in the Argus and I must say Slade's responce was not convincing.
Sounded like a man being held to ransom pending results.
Certainly does not sound like a done deal.???

The board probably want to leave it until the end of the season, but I reckon (and bloody hope) he'll be offered a new contract regardless of what happens tomorrow.

I would love Slade to be in charge next season but i'm convinced Gannon will be given the job.

If he's going to get it I think it might be announced before the game. Give everybody a little boost.

(BTW I'm not 100% convinced he is the right man as I think there's a touch of the Steve Gritts about him, but I'll concede that he's earnt the chance and there is a distinct lack of alternatives who are both realistic chances and palpably better managers).

If Russell Slade is not given a contract after what he has achieved with a demoralised and injury-hit squad over the last couple of months, the confidence he has instilled in some of our hitherto under-performing players and the passion he has shown, then it wil be a bloody disgrace, and a travesty of justice.

Why exactly would Jim Gannon be considerd more worthy anyway?

If RS is given a contract, then :drink::clap2:

If not, then I wil be bloody  and the Seagull's board will be:tosser:

The article is in the online edition, in my opinion there should be no doub't whatsoever; read it yourself, sounds a bit vague.

Maybe Slade does not want to managed in League 2...

I am sure a lot of the managers we were looking at before were less keen on the job because of the prospect of playing a league lower.

Also, has Slade's family moved up here etc?

Maybe he only ever wanted a short term deal.

Indeed, think there will be uproar if he doesn't get it!

Can't believe the board would make the same mistake again. Jim Gannon sounds like a really good manager but he turned us down and gave Russell Slade his chance. Even if we don't stay up tomorrow, I would give him a two year contract, as he has worked miracles in recent weeks, and allow him to choose his backroom staff (and to those anti White and Booker people on here that means choose who he wants and if he chooses them, get behind the whole staff).

Really hope it is sorted early next week so he can work on keeping, releasing and signing players.

Would hate to go through the situation we had last year with wilkins being allowed to decide the retained list only to give Adams the job, still bringing Hart back has served us well in the end

More of a reason for us, the crowd, to chant Russell Slade's name throughout the match tomorrow. Show the board who we want.

I don't think there is anyway Gannon will, or should, be given the managers job in the summer. After Micky left and it was learned that Gannon was the front-runner, he was my, and I would imagine many others, first choice to take over the job. Slade definitely was not my first choice.

However, since then Slade has more than won me over with his enthusiasm and everything he has brought to the club, including results. Obviously there may have been circumstances we don't know about but from what I can see Gannon turned us down flat out because he didn't want to come here. There is no way that he should now be considered after Slade has earned the right of a new contract.

Said before - Gannon is definitely going to be our manager

If Gannon quits his job at Stockport before tomorrow's game then I might be inclined to believe you know something because he wont want to relegate a team he's planning on taking over next season.

i f***ing love RS - and he should def get at LEAST 2 years.

Gannon sounded alright but f*** that i doubt he would have managed to create what RS has in just a few weeks.
