I find it hilarious that a player who scored 2 good goals against us, one good one for us, and other than that has looked average at best to the point that he got loaned out has such a positive reputation on here, and a quick look at other threads has everyone slating people who have contributed a lot such as Navarro, Dicker, Barnes, Painter, Sparrow. Bizarre.

This. Never showed anything apart from a quarter of an hour cameo against Cardiff that suggested he was better than what we already had, yet somehow some people have decided after he's barely played for us that he's better than Barnes & CMS. Makes my head spin.

Exactly. There was sympathy for Vicente when he had depression when injured long term, plenty for Elphick but none for Dicker because he's been 'gash' since he came back. Players in rehab spend long hours every day in the gym trying to rebuild wasted muscle and get fit again, which has to be every day as he has pointed out. So he couldn't have days off to go up country and visit his family.
That said, I hope he does do well this season as I did like the look of him with CMS in preseason.

If that lot are so bloody good - how come we finished the season with a prolonged spell of relegation form? We have a lot of dead wood that needs cutting out. Gus looks like he knows what he must do to take us forward (his own shortcomings in terms of pragmatism and style of football excepted). Of those you list, only Barnes is good enough to keep. He is on a really steep learning curve, the others have had their chance and blown it.

What makes me laugh is how some people cannot stand the thought of us needing to get rid of players to progress. Are you all like these people on telly with houses full of rubbish they cannot throw away?

Would you take Vicente back?

His name was not on the guy's list. Do keep up!

I would, providing the rest of the team was stronger. His failure to track back and tackle is a real problem with our weak midfield.

I know he isn't on the list so don't patronise me. By your reckoning the relegation form started when Vicente started regularly. So you could make a case for saying let Vicente go. I don't want him to leave but it's using the same criteria as your opinion.

To be honest I wasn't really commenting on those particular players. Although they have all played their part in a top-10 team - apart from maybe Painter.

My point is that everyone (such as yourself) is really quick to put the boot into them and quite happily write them off for next season, and then a guy who has contributed NOTHING to this team and given us no reason to think he will do has a load of support and people desperate for him to be given a chance.

Can't disagree with that in relation to painter, barnes, dicker and navarro but think will deserves another crack.
