Being Albion fanatics we cannot see how shite the football is at the moment, my mate who is not an Albion fan nearly dropped off during the game and concluded the football was not much better than local park football on a Sunday.

Very little is at this level, and dont say it was much better when we went up because it wasnt.

Have we been totally outclassed this season ?

No.

No.

Am I the only one that thinks even though we took the lead against Crewe, it was against the run of play, and we were totally outplayed that day??

I, for one, am glad McGhee is gone. I thought the place had become like a morgue, and I'd actually stopped looking forward to going to football. I do feel sorry for the guy, but there is a large part of me that does feel he brought some of this on himself, and that his reputation went before him.

I've said for ages, way back into last season that I don't think he has the ability to attract players, and that his time had come. And no, I don't think it should have happened in the summer, but let's face it, although we haven't been outclassed this season, when have we ever looked like anything other than scraping a win?

Time has come for change, I'm not convinced Wilkins is the man, YET, but something had to give, and I'm a little relieved at the moment it's McGhee.

I'm not sure Deano is even `in` yet to get out: but based on last night, I think we should keep searching for a manager. That first half was among the worst football I've seen in 30+ years of watching them. No inspirational tactics, too many long balls, little movement, nothing new at all. Better after the break but still the old problems remain and a lack of real football - last seen under Mickey Adams. How the hell I'm going to persuade my young lad that his future lies in supporting this club when they play like that is beyond me. Sorry, I'm a die-for-the-club supporter - but last night was dreadful.
worst football in 30 years it wasn't that bad we played ok before they scored missed a couple of chances and then come out after the break and a change of system and looked a decent side until they made it 2-2.when was the last time a mcghee team come out and looked like winning a game they were losing?

I thought our football last night was shocking on occasions.

Unplaced - it's hardly the club's fault that you WENT LARGE on the present side being BY FAR the greatest team the world has ever seen on the strength of two half-decent wins at the start of the season. Just as you should have reeled in your enthusiasm then, you should reel in your bitterness now. We're just not very good at the moment and certainly won't be going anywhere near the play-off places.

My large bets were on the basis that Mark McGhee would be in charge for the season not Wendy Wilkins

Anyway Wendy used to get slated by large sections of the crowd when he played for us, hence the name Wendy, I liked him but lots of people did not. He has earned huge respect through the youth team successess but the first team could be a step too far ala Hinshelwood.

I think that one way in which this season differs from others is that we have nobody who you could look to for an inspirational bit of magic and everything is a bit run of the mill workmanlike.

How many people had the feeling of 'great football season starts next week' a feeling of anticipation and expectancy during August most people I have spoken to didn't this year.

How much of that is due to England's insipid showing at the world Cup tho? And on the back of that, SKY have got their work cut out to get anybody even mildly interested in the Premiership. And now we're all supposed to get excited about the qualifiers for Euro 2008? I really don't think many people care very much any more, and that feeling is trickling down to local level football.

IMy main worry is who will be next? Will the Withdean crowd try to get rid of other young players in future? Why don't we just let the fans pick the team with a pre match vote?
Well, apparently Tony Stokes is gash, yes, that talented young midfielder who was one of our best players for the first 3 games of the season. But he might as well f*** off now, he's gash you see.

So you've written him off already? :nono:

Look, Dick has already stated that we're a 'Community Club' - so just call out the names 15 mins before kickoff and decide by who gets the loudest cheers (or the softest boos). That will not only ensure that fans are encouraged to arrive early but also take the team selection headache away from Wilkins.

:lolol:

That's perspective for you. I thought there were plenty of grounds for optimism, and there was a fight and togetherness in the team which was hitherto lacking over the past year.

Wilkins has had TWO working days with which to work on training with his squad and put down his own ideas, and they're not going to go too mad today. Give him a break.

Christ I agree TLO. Team sprit better, more mobility in midfield, quick free kicks and throw on's not only that scored twice and came back from 1 down. (Yes I know they had 10)

Can I just ask, if a player is gash can people say he is gash? Also if a player is good are people allowed to say he is good?

Perhaps it would just be nice if people were a bit more constructive with their posts.
