I think it's because people need someone to dislike. The cartoon villain so to speak. Some people have Barnes, many have harley, some had/have gus, some had Vicente and barber is the latest. I doubt he loses any sleep over it

People need a bête noir to slag off, at the moment Barber fits the bill

Other in the past include Barnes, Kitson, Butters, Mayo, McGhee, Oatway and Nicky Rust. I hold my hand up to the last one.

My view on this is a lot of the anti Barber feeling is down to people wanting somebody to blame for the Gus Poyet situation, But because nobody knows what went on and because Barber was at Spurs when Poyet got the sack from there it's resulted in a lot of 2+2=5 going on and people assuming it's Paul Barber's fault. As far as I'm concerned Paul Barber was brought in to do a job and it's the results of that job that I'll judge him on and not the situation with Gus Poyet which in my opinion is down to Tony Bloom and the board.
