Simon Cox
Jason Scotland (seeing as Ipswich now have Wickham/Chopra/Priskin and Lisbie)
Jordan Rhodes
Heidur Helgusson (Free transfer)
David Somma
Billy Sharp (unlikely)

Any of those for our main striker, pretty please.

Why would Cox drop down from the Premiership?

i think a lot of players will be looking at the success of Taraabt and Sinclair who moved to the championship and are now in a much stronger position to progress their careers, Cox got games at the end of last season but could still be amenable to a move if WBA sign strikers

at left back i think it should painter being back up for the likes of lewington at MK dons, or Tierney now at Norwich. definatellly KLL, I doubt sharp would come so simon cox would be more likely, paul mcshane would be a solid buy, do we need a new GK? what about Gary Roberts - winger and peter clarke - CB both at Huddersfield and george boyd at peterborough.

I think Helguson has signed a new contract with QPR so won't be on a free. I did wonder about Nugent from Portsmouth as they're probably desperate for cash but I imagine there'd be a lot of interest in him.

Depends if you think ankergren is good enough? Clearly Leeds didn't when they went up and I don't think as an all round goalie he is up to it, he makes me nervous - but yes a good shotstopper. I also think sharp is more likely than cox if we've got the money!!

I would try for 3 season long loans from Spurs if the wages werent a problem Keane, Jenas and Cudicini.

Good call, that would be enough for me and with the gaffers contacts is not an impossible dream IMHO

Way out west
For a central defender we could do worse than sign Richard Naylor - who has been released by Leeds - could "do a Simon Morgan" for 12 months or until Adam is suitably repaired.

I did say if wages werent a problem lets put it another way if we had to pay 10% of their wages and Spurs paid the rest they would be the 3 I would go for in a hopeful world.

I think what your saying is right, and gus has got links with spurs, but i think more realistic targets at spurs Jake Livermore, Danny Rose, Kyle Naughton, all three would have cheaper wages and i think would be willing...

What about a short contract for Sol Campbell to help us out until Adam El Abd and or Tommy Elphick is back plus have a look at him with a view to doing for us what Simon Morgan did when MA was manager.

im not saying he would . but if he did ..............

No reason why he wouldn't, they've been linked with Mackail-Smith which would to me be two very similar players. He was mostly used as a sub, very little until the 2nd half of the season, then started to feature more once they were all but safe. Give them a decent fee and i'm sure Hodgson would be happy to use it to bring in someone else.

I think Helguson has signed a new contract with QPR so won't be on a free. I did wonder about Nugent from Portsmouth as they're probably desperate for cash but I imagine there'd be a lot of interest in him.

Just noticed that, last I'd heard he was being released, we have no chance then.
