Our leading goalscorer appears to be in disagreement with the club, leading to him not being in the squad for arguably one of our more important games of the season. Not a good situation whichever way you look at it.

So who is to blame?

Poll to follow.

A period of transition - but during teh transition we need to stay up this season!

I will reserve judgement until I know more but has it been confirmed that Forster won't be in today's squad?

[edit] Yes, it has, just saw the news on the official site. What an absolute crock of shit. Orient go into the game with an unchanged line up to the one that just whipped Brizzle Rovers 5-0 and we go into the match without our top scorer. Brilliant

There is no point putting in a transfer request when it is impossible to be transferred - it is just a daft thing to do and will destabilise things. Poyet correct to leave him out of the team after he has shown such a bad attitude. If he was ever going to get a new contract I doubt he will now.

Just move on- he's 36. I love him to bits and really wish he hadn't done this, but the whole is more important than it's parts, the club is bigger than it's players- if he wants to stir things up, stick him in the reserves till the end of the season and then shake his hand and wish him well.

I blame EVERYONE.

The club need to tie up contracts earlier, it's not fair on the players to leave it until the last minute evrey year.

Forster is out of order for going public with it. All this shit should be kept behind closed doors.

ffs no player is bigger than the team - the manager is managing the whole team - he is doing the job he is paid to do - including making the difficult decisions. so how about supporting the team and the manager - just for a change ......

I think that summarises how I feel pretty well.

Forster really should know better. At his age, why should the club commit to a new contract this early? If he were to get a long term injury and he wasn't able to play for a while people would be moaning about us throwing money away.

I think that either Forster or his agent is trying to engineer his release on a free so that he can go off and find another club now (with a nice signing on fee) rather than risk getting left behind when other players are released at the end of the season.

Warren aspinall has just said that the club probably want to know what Div we are likely to be in so as what budget with have to spend.

Make sense for late decisions on contracts doesn't it?

wow, i voted forster expecting to be pretty much alone, i thought the general opinion was offer him whatever contract he wants? I dont personally think forster should get a contract next season as i think his legs are going and by putting a transfer request in he has done nothing but upset the team at a pivotal point in his season, was RIGHTLY dropped and i dont personally think he deserves to start on tuesday unless he talks publically about why he made a mistake and commits to the club till the end of the season instead of throwing his toys out the pram, i thought he was above this.

Perhaps his agent thought "Well, if the club aren't offering us a contract, I need to let all the other clubs know he's available so they can watch and see that even at his age he can still score... Aw man, I really don't want to have to make 90+ phone calls to let every club know. Screw it, I'll call Sky Sports News..."

They can do that anyway. He's free to start negotiating, his contract runs out in the summer so will be free and will get a nice signing on bonus.

Just a matter of letting people know he's available...

but its important for people to know where there futures lie same as in any job
yes you put out two conracts one for same division one for relegated
this has been brought on by el abd getting one

im afraid poyets inexperience is showing fozzie always gives 110 per cent it was poyet who dropped him from todays game
weve had it without him
