This must be the guy Gus meant when he said they weren't looking but sometimes you can't let an opportunity like this one pass you by.

He is 33 and plays as a midfielder for Levante. He has been there 4 years and has scored 37 times in 127 appearances. My gut feeling is (without knowing anything about him) that we should only sign him up for a year, given his age.

Seems to be extremely popular at Levante. However, all the indications are that he's going to China - as discussed in other threads. Wouldn't put it past Gus though. Who'd rather go to Ghinzhou than Brighton? And there's always Gars if he's desperate for some crispy duck.

I think the way Gus is playing it, is to bring in the experienced guy's to help develop the crop of talented youth that we have coming through the system.

A very good plan, that I hope comes to fruition!

TBF we did get out muscled in several games last year and this probably contributed to our disciplinary record as we tried to hustle so would be good to bring in a couple of enforcers, mind you Gus seems to prefer the more cultured types. We also showed vulnerability to pace so hope this is addressed too.
