Doubt many of the decent ones in that list would touch the England job with a barge poll, given the expectations and the lack of World Class talent available.

Mourinho's probably best suited to the role - he would have the respect of players, supporters and media.

Supremely self-confident, his ego is also on a par with the job.

Even though he's left Chelsea, it would be an interesting twist if the FA were to talk with Mourinho with all the recent history concerning Sven's not-so-secret talks with Chelsea.

Mourinho has said it is a job for an old man and he is not old yet.

Trevor Brooking now while we look, interview, and appoint somebody else without the papers being made aware of it.

Shearer, Hansen or Wright they talk a good game on TV:lol:

Not a very inspiring selection...none of them make me think we could win something if they were in charge. Maybe it's because of those mugs at the FA who are running our game?

I don't think any of the first five on the list would touch it. 'Appy 'Arry would - he'd see it as a nice little earrner.

The person I'd like to see there is the one I wanted last year - Hiddink. But I don't think there's much chance of that either.

How about an Anglicised, respected World Cup winner who has played in the Premiership and took a shit team to the World Cup semi finals as manager just last summer.

Step forward Jurgen Klinsmann. The best German ever.
