As has the man who, in my opinion, was our 2nd best centre-forward during the Withdean years. Alas playing for a certain team in south London now. We all know his name.

Has he?

I thought he only had one, in the 3-1 game. Is my mind blocking out the memories?

Hmmm I can't be arsed to crawl through all the stats now, but you may be right Edna. Perhaps what l thought was his second goal was the nightmare l had afterwards replaying the goal he did actually score in my head!

Still a great player in my book though, and what l did really applaud, though not at the time, was his refusal to celebrate those goal(s) with his new team mates.

Which player has scored (and missed) the most penalties at the Amex?

If I recall correctly, Barnes has missed two and CMS has missed one. Vicente and Dave scored all of theirs.
Pretty sure Barnes has scored the most too.

Those stats prove nothing. Would be interested in how many goals per game or, better, minutes on pitch. If Barnes tops that list, then fair play to him...

If you factor in all of the games where Barnes had been played in any position other than striker fair enough. Barnes, when he gets a run of being played as a striker, will score goals. When he's being asked to drop back to help out defensively not even Messi would score under those conditions.

I don't understand why somebody who works his nuts off in virtually every game for The Albion gets so much flak from our 'supporters'. As El P said earlier: if you can find a better striker for £60k let the club know. I'd go further and say if you can find any player in any position for £60k who is better than Barnes let us know. Today's money, obviously.

JFC has scored more goals in open plat this season than Barmes, considering goals to minutes played tht statistic tells me that Barnes is out og his league playing in the Championship

Clearly you know very little about football otherwise you'd have seen how much time Barnes has been playing in roles where even one goal is a bonus. Strange that the current management team all consider him to be good enough for the Championship but you don't. They are professional football people-and you?

I don't buy into this 'football is a game of opinions' bollocks when used to pillory one player so don't use that please.

Can you list those roles then...and let me know which ones he hasn't suited, which ones he has?

Another player who the unintelligent amongst us thought would never make it.

People forget that being a striker is not just about scoring goals.

Unless Barnes scores goals, then scoring goals is nothing to do with it.

EDIT: I think I might have missed sarcasm. If not I can't really be bothered.

I would go one further.......find a better player for 600k. Have we not had the benefit if a couple of 600k players who have "crashed and burned" Not Barnes...only cost 60k and still our:clap2::clap2: top scorer at The Amex
