Most random one...Jiri Skalak at Royal Sussex County Hospital, with his partner for a pregnancy scan.
Thoroughly decent bloke, said hello to him and thanked him for getting us promoted to the Premier League.

Danny Welbeck's daughter was in the same nursery as my daughter. Used to speak to him on the afternoon pick ups, my partner was on first name terms with 'Daniel'.

Solly March and Joel Veltman at kids summer camp at Easter. Both picking up their kids. Solly very shy and quiet to talk to.

All post playing for us but have seen Glenn Murray at Concorde 2, Chalk and Brixton Academy. Lovely bloke, bought me a pint at the Concorde and had a long chat. He informed me that he never wanted to leave the first time round it was all Poyet's doing.

Not a player but I shared a lift with Des Lynam in Eindhoven during Euro 2000.

I bumped into Robert Isaac outside Heaton Park in Manchester before the Stone Roses' first gig after they reformed in 2012.

He was standing next to a massive bin and we were both trying to finish off our respective drinks before going in.

He gave me half a pint of red wine after I recognised him.

Impressive spot given he only played one season for us and this was 22 years before this gig.

Former Brighton player, but I bumped into Danny Wilson in a tea shop in the Peak District about 7 years ago. Obviously that's his neck of the woods, so perhaps not that strange.

Last Christmas eve. At Male Airport in Maldives, got on bus from terminal gate to waiting BA aircraft, when bus stopped (and only opened middle door of 3), looked up at right in front of me in his brown Rayban wayfarers was Bobby Z with his kids.

Said "Alright Bob" he replied "Alright mate, how's it going"

Our fleeting friendship ended as he decamped in business and I had to keep walking straight through to cattle class.

The year he signed for us, I bumped into Bruno in the Amex concourse loos at one of the Xmas events.

My wife and kids sat on the table next to Jiri Skalak one evening at VIP Pizza when he lived in Saltdean.

Gary Hart was at the park in Saltdean once when my lad fell off one of the swings or slides, and cracked his head open. Cue panic from the missus, blood everywhere, and a child screaming his head off....but she still had time to swoon over her long time crush, and say hello to Harty, as she carried the wounded warrior to the car...

He used to live in the same road as me. When he sold the house, Chris Hutchings bought it. I used to see both of them back in the day.

Not me, but a woman I know went to a spa hotel with her husband a few months ago and had a chat with a couple of young men in the hot tub who it turned out were professional footballers. She said they were lovely, and quite nice looking but didn't get their names though she thought they were Dutch. From pictures she says it was JPVH and Bart. I asked her if Van Hecke was the best looking Dutchman she knows but she just looked at me a bit confused.

I saw dale stephens completely off his nut outside an ibiza hotel at about 6am...early premier league season for us during an international break!!

I met super Tommy Fraser and lee Hughes together in a club in Mayfair many many years ago. Lee Hughes had just got out of the slammer I think and was really nice , let me sit at his table and drink his champagne. Turns out he was a real wrongun though and got done again a few years later for beating up a woman.

I saw gaetan bong and knockaert in Wynn hotel Vegas .... Firstly at a pool party chatting up some really ropey girls and then knockaert getting in trouble with security for being rowdy (himself!) later in the hotel.

Sat next to Bobby zee at a beach club in Mykonos. He was with his family so didn't bother him.

Back in the day, I bumped into Gary Hart in a newsagents in Peacehaven. He was buying cigarettes and crisps!

Everyone's got a Gary Hart story ffs mine is him as well, he was walking down Grove Road in Eastbourne, and as i know he's a Spurs fan - as am i - we had a chat about the recently binned off Harry Redknapp. Lovely fella, and that would have made it 2012 i suppose
