[Albion] Where’s the strangest place you’ve bumped into a Brighton player?

I met James McNulty in the ICU unit at The Royal Sussex. I had run to the hospital to see my father and had some Albion shorts on, his father was also waiting and slotted my shorts and asked if I was from the club. We struck up conversation. He invited me over to say hello to his son. This was a pretty stange place to meet an Albion player.
When he had the kidney issue I assume?

Liam Rosenior did the end of year motivational speech at our kids school awards.

Steve Sidwell did the same at our kid’s school three years ago.

Now, THAT was totally unexpected. I’d also forgotten about it until I read your post.

Bumped into Knockaert as I power walked through Tavistock Square on my way to work. Think he was on his way to meet his agent but it completely threw me.

Dale Stephens having breakfast at the next table in Gatwick departures the year before he went to Burnley. I said thank you for staying. He looked confused then smiled
I saw him sat on his own on a bank of grass in Hove Park around the time it was announced he was leaving for Burnley. A penny for his thoughts, I thought, not the time to ask him for his shirt….

From what I remember of him, he had one of those whiney Brummie accents.
Even then I did find him not of this world!
I used to live in an ex-mining town in West Yorkshire, and my ex’s Dad was chairman of the local Sports and Social Club football team. Prosser was local, and used to donate loads of free kit to the local clubs through his FA connections.

He was from Gloucester but based in West Yorkshire where he served in the RAF and was a part-time referee. Became a trainer and assessor after retirement (!)

Had a terrible game that day against Sheffield United.

Bumped into Pete Smith in New Eltham, whilst walking across New Eltham park to my university lecture (he signed a little while later).

Bumped into John Bryne at worthing hospital, he casted my feet.

Bumped into Charlie Oatway at a pub in Arundel chewed his ear off for half an hr - poor bloke - scored an own goal at Exeter just wanted to be left alone I think.

Richie Carpenter watching the Happy Mondays at Brixton Academy around 2004/05.

Lee Steele absolutely ruined about 10am in Las Vegas 2009.
Will never forget Lee Steele, absolutely ruined.. he loved the fact we recognised him though and I remember in the few words he could muster saying how much he enjoyed his time at Brighton and playing up top with Bobby Z.

I bumped into Robert Isaac outside Heaton Park in Manchester before the Stone Roses' first gig after they reformed in 2012.

He was standing next to a massive bin and we were both trying to finish off our respective drinks before going in.

He gave me half a pint of red wine after I recognised him.
