When was the last time that Kuipers Saved a penalty.

I remember a few years ago that when a pen was awarded against us i had every faith that kuipers would save it.

Now im just resigned to it going in.

This is no indicment on FDM btw. I just cant remember the last time he saved a pen

It would be a DISASTER if we got a penalty shoot out in the unlikely event we reached the play-offs. Not only does he not save them, he doesn't get close to them.

That's because he's fat.

This is exactly why I debated whether he could have done better for that goal the other week.

i wouldnt say fat - more top heavy

how many of kuipers wonder saves does he make in the bottom corners? he is superb at stopping shots high or at body height, but anything low he struggles to get down to because of his big frame

this could be one of the reasons he is shit at penalties - the majority of them go into the bottom corners, and he just doesnt get down to them

Whereas, I remember when John Keeley was in goal at the Goldstone and whenever he faced a penalty I almost expected a save as he had such a good record (especially in front of the North Stand).

That is the one side of Michels game that has been a dissapointment as he never even gets close and you'd have thought by the law of averages he'd get one occasionally

Shilton was poney at stopping pens as well. He never got a sniff.

Are you sure he has only saved one ?? im sure i can remember more than that !!!

How many did roberts save ??

I don't know but the memorable one was against Swindon in the second leg of the play off semi.
Henderson saved a penalty against Millwall in the JPT last season.

I would suggest its why he gets beaten from distance a bit as well, same with Robinson

Kuipers and or the coaching staff don't seem to be doing their homework on penalty takers.

John Sullivan saved a penalty against Lewes at Bognor. It was a great save.

Yep, the fact he doesn't save many penalties was the reason we lost last night. Not because it was right in the corner, just because he hasn't saved one for x years.

where in this thread does it say that THAT was the reason we lost last night?
