Do you love or hate football cliche? Sometimes I wish that footballers/ managers would think of something new to say. My most hated expression is 'we set our stall out'

What the f*** does that mean?

A fave amongst footballers is for them to reply to every question with "very much so". I remember a BBC Sportsnight (or something like that) when Les Ferdinand and Ian Wright were both on it and it appeared they had a competition to see who could say it the most.

The only words Peter Beardsley can say: "To be fair. . ."

And, not just football, but all punditry, TV / radio presenting - the dread words "absolutely" and "fantastic". Drives me mad to hear them used so often as ways to fill space. . .

Have any of you ever listened to Gary Stevens on Talk Sport? The amount of times he says "You Know" is unbelievable.

Bobby says that a lot. I have been watching the video of Reading v Brighton last April when Bobby got MOM .
He says it in every line.

"We came out better in the 2nd half" always gets me. Does that mean the team were flaming ill in the 1st half. No wonder they played so crap!!!

At the start of a season you'll hear alot of:

"yeah, they'll be there or there abouts.."

relating to teams that will be in and around the play offs i presume?
