What's with this 'Thumbs up!' or 'Thumbs down!' nonsense?

I'm not sure if you can see on screen who has or hasn't " Thumbed " you, I disabled thumb notifications so I can't see it that way. But, I'm coming to the conclusion it's daft.

If you hover over the total score it gives you a list.

If we are having a thumbs up and a thumbs down option can we also have a "who gives a damn" option?

That would be not clicking either
