Port Vale away, promotion party 2001. I got the train from Brighton at about 7am and a mate got on at Hassocks with a crate of Stella, we'd finished it by the time we got to Euston.

I seem to recall an anouncement on the train back saying they'd run out of alcohol, probably best for all concerned.

God. I remember this awful day. I left a London club (poss Turnmills) a few hours before I was supposed to be on the train up north. I got home, necked a handful of these vitamin pills I was using for running and travelled. One thing I do remember was having a pee at the ground and the combination of dehydration and the vit pills had turned my wee bright yellow. For many reasons I was feeling quite paranoid at this point.

Burnley at home in our first season at the Amex, when we lost 1-0 with 9 men. I was so drunk I thought our second red card was a replay, even though I was looking at the pitch rather than the big screen.

The woman in the earlier put that would only sell pints if we had the correct money, as she had unplugged the tills to heat up her hair straighteners.

The landlord threatening to throw us out as we kept activating his Halloween skeletons.

:lolol:

Brilliant. Genuine LOL.

I'd have to say Forest away for the playoff clinching game. After an early champagne at St Pancras International, got stuck into the full M&S range of delightful cocktails. This was followed by a few cans of Brewdog Punk IPA. Then we arrived in Nottingham, straight to the pub and then cab to the ground, a cab which I managed to fall over in. I was stunned they let me in the ground. After the game I was refuse service at the riverside pub, which given the err...celebratory nature of the rest of our fans after the game must have really said a lot about the state I was in that I was singled out.

Great day!

During the first season at the Amex, I think we were all on such a high about having such a magnificent ground that almost every game was treated as a bit of a party. As such there are a couple of games that I have absolutely no recollection of at all. Hull was one and I think the other might have been Forest but right there is 180 minutes of total mind blank.

Too drunk to be completely sure which ground it was, possibly Abbey Stadium

Pre match pub crawl in what might have been Cambridge. Could barely walk straight and had to 'concentrate' to make it to the turnstile entrance.

Sat down on the terracing behind the goal for most of the match, might have been a draw.

Brighton factually.....
Mid 90s @ Orient, went to Camden first for a few beers in The Elephants Head, whilst in the said establishment I meet with some regulars and was encouraged to participate in some speed earlier than usual, then proceed to Orients ground and the pub round the corner. Absolutely gone by then and if I am right I was not the only one the toilets got smashed up (not by me may I add) and the Old Bill turfed us all out. The following year no pubs were open when we played them. Watched the match and amazed I or my mate were by far not the worse in our end that day, seem to recall a bloke with tattoos on his face getting dragged about by stewards.... Anyway went back to Camden after the game and bought some ketamine for the first and last time..... Thats another story.

Remember having seats in the directors box, or possibly just behind, at Cambridge one year. Got stuck into their CUFC pound a pint lager in the directors/VIP lounge ....and got into all sorts of arguments and bother. Seem to remember Uncle Buck was with us?

We won 3-2 in the rain, Rod Thomas debut.

Stewards tried to throw us out and the woman that ran the lounge argued with them, so we carried on drinking.

That's it. I now remember the lady arguing our case and telling me the people who complained about us were a bunch of weird old-duffers. I remember smoking a lovely Cohiba cigar as well. A good night.

That genuinely surprises me given some of your late night posts !

I don't need booze to post drivel in the night.

God, I don't half post some shit. Thanks for pointing it out.

Try going into the K hole whilst actually AT the game. Meet spirits on the astral plane and get escorted out covered in snot and sick as I did at a Roots hall.

The pub (spread eagle) had so much sniff and whatnot on the tables out the back that it has to go down as one of Albions epic always. It's still spoken of in Southend to this day. When Albion got ****ed up in some style.
