Thousands on bowling balls over the last 15 or so years (although in the earlier years it was parent-funded haha!).

At £100-£250 a pop they're pretty expensive, I have 6 that I use right now. Even my bowling SHOES were £120!

I spent £120 on a Newbery Navarone cricket bat. At the time was the most expensive thing I owned. I couldn't bring myself to use it very much so it just sat in my room as decoration.

Even back in the 1970's-1980's Kart Racing was bloody expensive - spent thousands on chassis and engines (they came separately) - I remember one meeting my brother and I blew up all of the 3 engines we had which cost my Dad best part of £1500 - in 1975!

I have no doubt anyone that does any serious Motor racing, either 2 or 4 wheeled, can probably beat this.......

Around 200 quid for a snooker cue about 15 years ago.

I still have it but don't play much anymore. Snooker clubs are being closed down because of the bookies being allowed more and more betting/fruit machines and the recession's hit Riley's hard. While I can still knock in 40 and 50 breaks on full size tables that's never been anywhere near good enough to be able to turn professional and make a living from it. There are Chinese kids making centuries and maximums at the age of 10 - that's frightening how much the standard of the game has risen.

£363 on a snooker/pool cue, handmade by John Parris to my spec. Cracking value, had it for over 10 years now and it's still as straight as an arrow and will last a lifetime if looked after properly.

Two grand on my time trial bike. Total bike-related expenditure over last ten years would be something obscene.

In one go would be my Ping G2 Irons which set me back about 850 pound. The club set overall has got me for at least 1400-1500 pound....
