I think about this a lot and wish I knew the answer but its not in the poll.

I think our welfare state does as much damage as it does good. The breakdown of the family combined with lazy benefit cheats have brought up new generations of wasters, who think they're owed an existence.

Interesting point there.

I blame booze, myself, and the impact it's had on families. And greed, the me me me culture.

Also, I think my age-group (mid to late thirty-somethings) have a lot to blame, for bringing up this generation of knife-wielding, disrespectful and murderous teenagers.

Individualism to the point of exclusion of communities.

No prefix...not ethnic communities, gay communities, just COMMUNITIES.

I blame the changing of brand names. Opal Fruit, marathon, oil of ulay, smarties no longer being sold in tubes with lids with letters.

Crisps in the wrong colour packets - light blue is salt and vinegar, green is for cheese and onion.

That's when it all went wrong.

It's the Northerners fault for the crisp packets, Walkers crips changed the colours when starting mving their crips down here.

I think the country started falling apart during the sixties and seventies. You only have to look at how the car and motorcycle industry fell apart. We thought we were the dogs bollocks and didn't think we needed to change. That is the reason why the car and motorcycle industry collapsed and that is the reason why the country has become in the state it is today.
Oh and Thatcher didn't help either with the privatisation of nearly everything.

As long as there are people there will always be problems. There are political and social problems that could be helped but there is no way to stop people being arseholes. Ways to limit the amount of people becoming arseholes yes, stop it all together, no.

Its always been like that.

Hit the nail firmly on the head.

I think in all seriousness the country started to go downhill during WW2. Absent fathers, lack of discipline, families broken apart etc

Oh sh*t!

It's my Dad's fault.

I'll get the ouija board out and give him a severe talking to.
