Oooh thanks for bringing this up...December 1999 was the the month I escaped unscathed from the most depressing relationship of my life. Brilliant month :)

Brighton factually.....
Ahhhh 10 years ago  Before Mrs Freakout

I was foot loose fancy free playing the field between a fiery spanish girl and a half cast girl from america who lived in germany....

Drinking like everyone else on here, way toooo much ,and toooo much columbian marching powder was on the table or toilets of every pub in Camden Towns Rockabilly haunts like camden workers and Dingwalls.

In a funny kinda way it was sad.

10 years later ...........Im Older,Lost my quiff, put on 1 stone and married too Mrs Freakout for 7 years with a 7 week old nipper.....and im sooo happy

The Coast
I was stuck on the South Coast in a small flat wondering what had happened to my life....

Then I got into politics..now I'm still stuck in that flat but at least have changed other peoples' loves, if not my own! Mixed with the famous a bit - saw Cleggy on Thursday - so I can say I tried to ascend the political ladder.

Along the way I hope I smoothed the path to having Falmer built.

Oh and whatever happened to the Millennium Bug? How much were people conned out of on that scam?

working for a Plastic card manufacturer in Lewes. Had been taken over and wondering what the hell I was doing there still.

Now they are no more, having closed Lewes, moved to petersfield and then closed them and moved it all to Poland

I was a 20 year old uni student who finished exams and was on holidays, working at a mail centre listening to the radio and all the hype about the Millennium and Y2K while trying to save some money. Fortunately, the NYE party I went to turned out to be the best ever and lived up to the hype.

The Fatherland
Was living in Camden, fat, and I'd just quit freelancing to take a permanent job. Negotiated a 2 month gap between jobs and went back packing round Cuba with London Calling. Arrived back for the new year which was spent in various pubs before heading to the beach with HuuuuuUUUUge cigars then a friend of a friends house party; girl crying on stairs and a couple of blokes having a fight...excellent stuff.

10 years on I'm living in Hove, 3 stone lighter, back freelancing and about to get married.

HAd been in Brighton almost exactly a year. working as Security in Virgin Megastore, Churchill Square. Living in a shared house on Prestonville Rd. f*** man, that seems like a different person lived that life. That has spun me a bit. Good thread though.

My girlfriend at the time father had just died (he'd had Parkinsons for years, so kind of a relief anyway), and we were sorting the funeral etc. On a lighter note, I was also gearing up to go on a trip to Egypt leaving on Boxing day for two and a half weeks with 25 friends:drink::drink::drink::

(funnily enough I got binned by my girlfriend not long after returning!)
