Just had another look over on BBS.

The goons are claiming they have restored the worldwide appeal of the FA Cup.

What the **** is wrong with these people?
Those backward Eastern European countries love a freak show, you know the bearded lady, baby with two heads that sort of thing.......palace at Wembley would be right up their street.

oh and....

Because someone sold them a load on the sly.

Nothing sly about it, in those days tickets were allocated depending on the competing clubs average attendance, United's was way more than ours , that's why we didn't have as many there as them. If the allocation was equal we still would've sold out.... .. just like any other club.......apart from one!

Marvellous scenes:

'I was pretty much surrounded by man u mostly wearing palace colours...The goal celebrations gave them away though, I got chatting to some of them on the train home seems like its a regular trick of theirs.'

I'm sure others will remember that there was a block of a few thousand tickets meant for us which ended up in Man Utd hands. I don't recall it being done by the FA. The implication being that someone in the Club sold them on to Utd and we got a friendly with them as payment.

Ahh yes, it's coming back to me now, your right someone did flog off part of our already smaller allocation . That was part of the lower tier if I remember right

This thread isn't fair, how can we choose?

1) Having to put on a 'display' to try and generate an atmosphere
That sounds pretty bad, but I didn't see it, I switched on at kick-off.

2) Numerous Manchester United fans in their end
Yes

3) Alan Pardew's victory dance
Well that is brilliant, but it's just a cringe-worthy manager

4) The tinpot beamback
Yes - that's just amazing

5) Most of their fans disappearing long before their team had left the pitch
I didn't see, but that sounds bad too.

I suppose number 2 is the worst.

I would guess they got a lot less tickets than Utd.

As the allocation is done on average attendances over the past few years.

Remember these are Palace's over the past few years.

Or perhaps the FA looked a little further back

1987-88 Barclays Second Division 9,745
1986-87 Today Second Division 7,583
1985-86 Today Second Division 6,787
1984-85 Today Second Division 6,440
1983-84 Today Second Division 8,119

And they have the audacity to say we have part time fans!

I don't know why anyone's surprised. The home ends at Selhurst are often filled with opposition fans.

Even the 'ultras' are led by Spurs fans.

The Poznan, dear oh dear. Bit old now isn't it?
Also there were tonnes of them leaving before the end. Normally I wouldn't care as that's normal and getting away from Wembley is a mare but the amount of bloody grief they give us for that so....!!
