It is what it is....if you're looking for high culture , don't bother, but the seafront has been spruced up, the 3 piers are traditional & the pleasure beach is as good or better than anything similar, or you can go up the tower.
At night there are plenty of friendly, cheap pubs, shows on here & there, more "lively" entertainment at places like Ma Kellys or Funny Girls, or something on at the Winter Gardens. If you like it, really depends on what you're looking for.

Was in lake district with girlfriend last year and she asked if we could have a night in Blackpool on way back as she had never been there. Drove up and down the seafront and I could see she wasn't impressed but we thought we would give it a go so called in at tourist info to see what accommodation was available. The girl in the tourist office looked at us and after a little thought, she said, " oh, I expect you want to stay somewhere clean" as if this was something unusual. To be fair she did come up with a couple of places but we had gone off the idea, got back in the car and left the shithole as soon as possible.
You lot have been incredibly harsh about Blackpool.
