No, Bry was quite correct to have used "the basics of English language" without typing 'THE' before it.
Your correction is WRONG looney.

Must try harder, and should desist from flicking bogeys at admin. personnel.

I think you'll find it's "spoilt" as in current tense rather that "spoiled" as in past tense

Recently denotes past tense.:dunce:

Top tip - if you don't understand when to use an apostrophe before or after an 's' at the end of a word - hedge your bets and don't use one. You're much more likely to be right than wrong.

For some reason people who don't understand the rules (and that's fair enough, it's not always easy) seem to be the ones happiest just to spray them around.

It's's not that difficult is' it?

That is all.???

It is neither. It is a forum for football fans, predominantly those of the Albion but also includes some welcome, and some not so welcome, fans of other clubs. You don't have to discuss football.

Is it the case that people genuinely can't spell or punctuate? Or do some on here throw in a deliberate red heron now and again to see who's awake?

See what you have done there. Very good.

It annoys me to a forum has people of all difrent types of backgrounds and mite even have people with learning difficulties on it then you always get some prick with a dictionary correcting everyone's spelling

It doesn't make a difference if someone has a learning difficulty, correcting is helping. After seeing their mistake they might not make it again - helpful for everyone involved.

Grammar is a bit like the Highway Code : it's quite possible to drive without knowing any of the rules of the road, but you are quite likely to confuse the hell out of other drivers, thus leading to plenty of misunderstandings, minor collisions and the occasional major crash.
