I have 3 that spring to mind

1)Barnet away 1999-2000 won 1-0 got so pissed and we packed out the away end and they have 1 small bog and all the Albion fans were pissing on the floor and sink etc.

2)Hpool away 2000-2001 draw 2-2 we walked into the main hpool fans pub shat myself as we got loads of verbals but in the end downed several pints with them and watched a great game

3)Aldershot away 87-88 won 4-1 My first away game got pissed on 2 cans of some shit beer I was only 15 .It kicked off big time and their ground made withdean look decent

Happy days :drink: :drink:

I really enjoyed Chester last away of the season ('88 I think) we got promoted (Yes Bez another big match) that was good, and in the evening half a dozen of us went over to Stockport v Cambridge. The away end consisted of approx.
25 Cambridge
6 Brighton
2 WBA
2 Leeds
t'was a mini fans united, a good laugh

Back to the original question, didnt miss an away that season so look back on them all fondly

1) '83 FA Cup Semi Final v Sheff Weds @ Highbury (probably enjoyed it more than the actual Final). The realisation that little old Brighton had made it to the final of the most famous domestic cup competition made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck (still does).

2) Liverpool away in the 5th Round of the same season - nobody gave us a prayer but it had everything.

3) scum away 1985 - on my 21st. Drew 1-1 & Gerry Ryan had his leg broken by Henry Hughton. Spent the entire game kicking up bits of terrace & lobbing it at the scum.

Very difficult to pick three though as so many memorable ones.

1) Chester 2-2 in 1987 - we blew a 2-0 lead and it seemed that was going to cost us promotion. But on the way back, we found out that Notts County had somehow lost 2-1 at home to Port Vale and the journey home was one big party knowing that a home win v Bristol Rovers would see us promoted.

2) 3-1 Bristol Rovers in Bath. The game where their keeper got sent off and Mike Small attempted the shittest penalty you've ever seen. We still won though, despite Devon White punching the ball into the net for their goal.

3) Orient 2-0 - we OWNED them. Brooker, Zamora, Barnet Seagull's yellow fleece jumper. Marvellous.

Also quite enjoyed the 4-1 Aldershot game that kestrel talks about

1) Wycome away on that protest day were we all stayed behind and the megaphone!

That was my 1st awayday with Brighton and thats when i got the 'bug'

2) Play-off final, technically not an away game but still quality day all round

3) Millwall away last season, went up early doors looking for some pub called the griffin, spent most of the morning drinking our way round london and then did the same after the game

and the Palarse away game last year was also top notch

I was 13 and shitting it. Remember being hit by a coin at the end of half time when they all piled down those stairs and started lobbing stuff at us en mass.

Then the fights in that crap stand they put us in these days. Plus Ryan's career ended plus we really did need a win in that game. All in all, a shit way to spend an evening.

In no real order:

1, Nottm Forest 1-0 Virgo. Was a tense game but with great atmosphre and a fantastic result then went out in nottingham afterwards where i had a really great night!

2, Palace 1-0 Mcshane. Marvelous scenes

3, Swindon 1-0 Carpenter. Great day out, nice and sunny may afternoon where we werer under the cosh for alot of the game but chippy struck late on, i belive it took a deflection of gordon smiths son that took it away from the keeper aswell

1) I think the '83 Semi Final was my best away occasion too. Standing, struggling to see in the old Clock End at Highbury with nearly 20,000 Brighton fans crammed onto that huge terrace. What an atmopshere. And Jimmy Case's strike is still one of my all time favourite Brighton goals. What a day.

2) There was a game at Wycombe .. must be 10 years ago in the early days under Liam Brady when we just played sumblime pass and move football. Nogan and Junior McDougall ran riot and although we only won 3-1 it could have been 8. It might have been a league cup game. Sadly the optimism was short lived but we rocked that night.

3) Then this season, Huddersfield away was just one of the best
performances by an Albion side I have seen for years. And that Albion side made up of what 7 or 8 home grown boys who have great potential. And Jake Robinson's magnificent hat trick goal - Michael Owen would have been proud of that finish.

More please...

1: Liverpool away in the fifth round in 1983, about 6,000 Albion there on a Sunday afternoon, they were all heroes that day and to be fair to the Bindippers, they gave the Albion a standing reception at the end of the game.

2: Sunderland away in 1981, Gary Williams scoring a last minute winner to secure a 2-1 victory and take us out of the relegation zone with one game to go. No more than 50 Albion to watch it!

3 Hereford 1997. Nuff said.

1) Sheff Utd away in about 86, we hadn't won an away game for what seemed like decades, Saunders scored fairly early in the game and we held on for a momentous win.

2) Sheff Utd again, the season before last, a winner from Leon in injury time, I can't remember ever being so hoarse or deaf after a game, they let us in for a tenner and we took all three points home.

3) Swindon away in the play-offs, one shot on goal, one goal scored, won 1-0. Watched the game in the main stand with the Swindon fans, those sat around me guessed that I was a Brighton fan, I didn't make it obvious who I followed or applaud our goal, they wished us good luck versus Bristol in the final when I was leaving at the end.

I was at the game where Ryan broke his leg, I wouldn't class it as one of the best games I went to, especially the collection they had for us at half time, however if it was your 21st and you were completely off your face then I can understand how it might have been funny.

has to be hereford for obvious reasons.
I cannot believe it took so long for someone to say Hereford.

Hereford as got the be the number one experience for any travelling Albion fan. It was a total one off. Win or draw and the club carries on, lose and the club you love folds. A one off, and for me the Albion memory that will live with me longest.
