Wherever The Mood Takes Me
1. Leicester away in the Coca Cola Cup. We won 2-0 after being 1-0 up after the 1st leg. This was the game when Stuart Munday scored that cracker & Jimmy Case got sent off for being deaf!!

2. Cardiff Play Off Final. Great weekend. Nuff said.

3. Barnet away. The year me & moggy created the posh spice is a slapper song on the tube. It was funny hearing the whole stand singing it an hour or two later. :clap2:

Hereford wasn't that great for me I felt sick in the stomach at half time, I felt sick thinking of the outcome, I felt sick every time they got the ball, at the end I was drained and just wanted to get out of the place, I know why people enjoyed it but i'm sure you get my drift. I think the cup semi was our biggest result but losing that one and losing to Hereford are very different

Palace away last season was just a quality night out, and felt great for days afterwards.

But for me there's something I love about midweek away games, maybe it's because the people who go are usually the real die hard fans, especially if it's a long trip. There's always a quality atmosphere, probably stemming from the small sense of achievement in getting there, and that generates lots of singing.

For that reason, Nottingham Forest away midweek a couple of seasons back, when we won 1-0, was great, I always enjoy the trip to Wycombe and can remember a decent away win there I think, and (bizarre but true), I had a great night out at Rushden & Diamonds when we went up there and won 3-1 en route to promotion from League 1, whatever it was called then. Lovely little ground, decent atmosphere, and a win.

Swindon away in the play offs was hilarious, lovely hot day, and we absolutely mugged them for the win in a game which they'd been so confident of beating us in.

West Ham away the last time was great too.

The Spurs cup game was good, shame I delayed all the coaches while I had a pint in the Tottenham pub.

Oooh, I forgot.

Plymouth Argyle away, 2001.

The day we sealed our first promotion in YEARS. Several results had to go our way for us to do it, but I'd had a gut feeling for weeks that Plymouth would be the game, and dragged my Dad down to Devon for his first away game since about 1983, insisting it would be worth it.

The trip took hours, it rained most of the afternoon, but in our blue & white tinted world, everything was glorious sunshine as Zamora scored early, we killed it in the first half with a second goal, and then sat back and waited for the other results to fall into place.

Final whistle, all the other games were settled and I just remember the 1200 or so of us jumping about on the terrace for ages, before making our way back to the car. It took about an hour to get out of the car park, but nobody cared, we just drank champagne, laughed, and cheerfully honked car horns in time with each other.

Scarves out the window all the way home, and I can still recall Alan Green on BBC 5 Live congratulating ourselves and Fulham as the first teams in England to be promoted that year

Happy days :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Worthing
Kidderminster away sitting next to ROSM. Great cottage pies (in gravy) and a steam train passing opposite.

For other reasons, Palace away last season.

Brighton
1) Swindon Town (A) 1996... The Jolly Boys Outing... We lost 3-2 but the whole day was tremendous, a coach load of drunken thieving pub wrecking buffoons we were. (plus Insider passed out on a swing)

2) Leyton Orient (A) 2001... Yet another quality day out and we won 2-0 to boot, marvellous drunken scenes and to this day I still want to know where the O's fans were that day.

3) Any away game at Barnet, always love going there.

Brighton, United Kingdom
Wycombe = the sit in game
Orient = last time we went there, my first awayday
Leeds= The 3-3 game
Palace = 1-0

probably loads more but those are the ones that stand out the most.

Its grim up north
1) Hereford - Was much more than an away match. It is the best Albion experience I expect to ever have and included the best single moment of happiness that anyman can have. But it came after that build up of tension to levels so high. It was crazy and it was the best.

2) 7-1 at Chester (don't remember what season but about 10 years ago). For my own reasons Chester was a club I bore a special grudge against. But that game cured it.

3) All the away games at Shrewsbury seem to be good to me. Not sure why.
