I have been outside ... grass is fine & NOT rock solid.

You're right - I've been outside and both the grass and sand are fine and NOT rock solid.

No reason at all why the game shouldn't have gone ahead.

And I bet it won't stop the World Club Championship taking place later on today less than an hour's drive away.

There's one rule for one...

Just wait until next Spring and all the roads are full of potholes because of the Big Freeze and of course the Council wont have any money in the budget to fix them.

Had Paul Samra (sp?) pop into bar last week and he said the conditions were handled a lot better here. Granted they are more experienced but to my eyes it appears they get the unemployed and cheap central Asian migrants out in large numbers shoveling and gritting Even side street pavements.

Pleased the game was called off, we could have lost a player or two due to the conditions but it would not be worth turning out for, to see players slipping and sliding particularly at todays prices.
If you doubt me you did not see the Ipswich game,it was`nt football

A slight dusting of snow & everything comes to a standstill - oooh, someone might slip over & sue us for a few quid - why bother doing anything when it turns a little bit cold? This country is a bloody joke.

Emmmmm! I am a bit confused to, I've just seen Father Xmas being arrested on the front of the Argus!!!! Now what are we going to do! was that Balkham involved!

Having worked for BAA at Gatwick I’m not at all surprised at the complete shambles at Heathrow. Before they privatised it BAA had a lot of good people working for them. They then got rid of them and brought in a load of tossers obsessed with metrics and key performance indicators but unfortunately lacking any common sense. Whenever they f***ed up they just muttered something about ‘lessons learned’

It’s interesting that Gatwick is no longer part of BAA but has coped pretty well under similar conditions.
