It amused me that the picture accompanying this piece shows a complete packed stand

Thats the irony. He has chosen us (who have sold out every home league game) to make a point about the reason for dwindling attendances. What a jerk.

He does make a valid point though imagine if for example we were in a position where by we have 13000 empty seats (like barnsley) you would think that we would be able to pay on the gate?

What an absolute retard. This isn't even just a blog, is it? This chap is getting PAID for this drivel?

So apart from the fact that potg is prohibited under the terms of the planning permission, that the sale of away tickets is the responsibility of Barnsley, and that our home games are all sold out, it's a pretty good bit of writing. Such a shame there is no facility to leave comments.

I imagine if we were in that position then options would be offered - as they were at Withdean, but we're not.

Ok seen it (on my phone). Well if the idiot did a bit more mucking around othan just seeing who sells potg he'll notice we are the most sold out ground in the Championship at 91% of the ground. Oh and if he's a journo his grammar/spelling sucks.

I also find this line baffling 'But the policy of Championship clubs not to permit entry to ‘walk up’ customers is baffling.'

Which clubs? Every team we have been to this season has allowed POTG, unless it is a sell out. Whenever it isn't is down to the police or planning authorities / local councils. There is an article here if researched but what Winwood has written is not it.

I think there lies the problem, the ticket office told him it was a "club policy" rather than explain that its prohibited under the terms of the planning permission.
