Have you thought of learning how to spell your great leaders name properly...or are you too thick...?

It is four letters long...tricky I know...but give it go, eh ?

What are you on about you silly cretin, please highlight where I spelt anyone's name incorrectly?

You've gone quiet over this.

I think you were probably referring to my CORRECT spelling of "Keir".

Please clarify?

Compared to 2 months ago yes this 'deal' isn't good, obviously

But compared to what most of the world have and seeing as Cars & Steel are our higher GOOD exports to the US this is very good for us, especially if we get preferential treatment on incoming Pharma tariffs.

It's a good start and red lines such as food standards are not altered and the rumoured digital services 2% on Google etc. did not have to be lowered (yet) so credit to Starmer

Not sure why anyone who voted for Brexit is complaining? This is what you voted for! Trade deals where we’re the minor party!

A Trade Deal, but we still seem to be in a worse position than before Trump returned to the White House given the tariffs that remain in place.

Hopefully we have the right to walk away with the first 30 days.
It's NOT a trade deal. Trump doesn't have the authority to sign such a thing

Do you mean it's because it hasn't been approved by the US Congress? If so, it very likley would/will be. Also, I understand some trade 'deals' can be signed off by executive order only, although I don't understand what the limits of this are, do you know?

It never fails to disappoint me that for such a progressive city and club, so many fash adjacent losers still exist within our support. The ones not even bothering to read analysis on this and just saying it's shit and voting Reform in '29 are just embarrassing.

Trump declared on social media this announcement would be a "major trade deal" - it's not.

He does not have the authority to sign the type of free-trade agreement India and the UK finalised earlier this week - this lies with Congress.

Congress would need to approve a trade agreement, which would take longer than the 90-day pause in place on some of Trump's tariffs.

This is an agreement which has reversed or cut some of those tariffs on specific goods.

What was announced today is only the bare bones of a narrow agreement.

There will be months of negotiations and legal paperwork to follow.

Apparently, tomorrow someone who's had their face eaten by leopards after twice voting for "The leopards eat their face party" is going to tell us yet AGAIN how the leopards are still eating their face :shootself

Well done PM, i also shed a tear to the Dark Lord overseeing things in the Oval Office, Labour are really impressing me day after day, i’ll be announcing the latest boat crossing numbers tomorrow for the last seven days and with a bit of luck we’ll see a drop in numbers

Maybe a cry for sympathy ? So there's something to look forward to :dunce:

And those that suck up to it without analysis are worse. They're the ones who don't read the t and c's and then complain when it goes up the creak.

Being of no political persuasion, though voted Labour last time, I attempt to find a common consensus and not jump blindly either way.

It does seem that it's being oversold, but whilst not legally a trade deal (yet), it's a deal/agreement on some trading arrangements that has some benefits from a UK perspective compared to the situation yesterday.

I guess we'll see how it pans out...

That is exactly it. It's not a trade agreement, it's not even a trade deal, it's a framework covering some minor stuff to be negotiated which may be to our advantage. And quoting opinion pieces from wherever, won't change that

I genuinely believe he could be one of the best PMs in my lifetime - if not of all time.

The shite he has inherited, after all the damage the Tories have caused, in this uncertain world - and the way he is handling it, keeping true to his promises, is beyond exceptional.

The deals are a great effort and a sign of things to come.

I really hope the electorate don't buy into all the BS in the right-wing press. He has had to make difficult decisions and will continue to - but what he is doing for this country I have never seen a leader do before.
You haven't convinced me.

Whilst I just about agree with you 100%, it's unfortunate that he is running around like a submissive tart to all and sundry instead.

of course it's oversold, that's what Trump does, takes a small thing and embiggens it. it is the shape of a deal, which tells us we'll not face higher tariffs than those said today. everyone will get some tariff because Trump needs the revenue, expect all countries to land in 10-30%, with minor concessions on trade barriers each way. he sells this a great win at home.
