I believe that Tank could have helped out by coaching the defenders but it is too late now and any thought of a player job with or without coaching should be forgotten. Manager? I am not sure had he stayed I would have liked to have seen him as assistant to MA or even possibly an old experienced manager.

Sorry mate but I disagree with every word of that. I don't know how you can say he is over-rated when we have hardly seen him in his best position at all this year, and when he has played there he has generally been solid.

As for the last sentence of your post; do you go to many games? I can think of at least two occasions yesterday when he 'intercepted a ball, controlled it and layed it off to a team mate'.

I presume the best position you allude to is central defender. I have seen him play in this position enough to know he isnt good enough.

I go to all the home games and a few aways. Okay, mayhe he does lay the ball off now and again BUT the vast majority of the time he thoughtlessly smashes the ball f***ing miles. I was not alone in voicing my annoyance at this particular trait of his yesterday.

He would have been better off taking up a challenge elsewhere instead of taking the easy option and returning to familiar surroundings.

He is a very efficient no nonsense clear the lines type central defender.

Ha ha. A great euphemism. The other one I like is when instead of saying players are shite they become 'honest.'

Yes sorry I did mean central defence.

Fair enough you don't rate him but we're going to have to agree to disagree. I was delighted when he was re-signed as he is exactly what I thought we needed, a big, strong and commanding centre-half. I have been frustrated to say the least at Adams playing him seemingly anywhere other than centre-back, even after a terrific performance there against Man City.

You say his distribution is not good enough. I would agree but we are not going to have any Rio Ferdinand's playing at this level, especially at the bottom of the league.

Due to his limited ability on the ball I would rather he got the ball away from the danger-zone rather than attempting and failing to play his way out of defence, as we have seen with Lynch (a more talented player on the ball), which can cost us goals.

We are not good enough to accomodate a ball playing central defender in the Ledley King, Rio Ferdinand mould we need a win the ball and clear it centre half. Most of Butter clearances were either to the forwards or into the stands and everybody is saying we havent replaced him.
