Transfermarkt have the Stratsbourg contract ending in 3 weeks with 'condtions' for the OtB.

I wonder if they are performance related? I did say slightly tongue in cheek on this thread a few days ago, lets hope there were conditions that we would not sell if Barco turned out to be a good WB (and got some decent trousers! 🙂)!

One might argue that after his previous car-crash loan, the OtB might have been necessary for both the loaning club and the player to take his development seriously.

Also, one condition of his sale might be whether we still want to let him go or not? Stuttgart certainly found it difficult to enact a OtB with us after Undav have a stunning loan spell, and their fans f***ing hate us because of it!!!
Ah.
I love conditions.

Call me old fashioned, but I worry about a man with similar or identical earrings left and right ???

Chelsea reportedly paid £5 million to send Jadon Sancho back.

It's possible that the Barco loan had some similar penalty clause that can be triggered by either side. So if we really wanted Barco back, we'd pay some amount to tear up the old loan contract.

Or maybe we’ve done something similar to the Undav deal. They have an obligation to buy but we can buy him back for a little bit more?

Does seem an odd thing to tweet - everything this club does is meticulously planned so wouldn’t be surprised if we may be thinking of keeping him (which I’d be pretty happy about!)

Yes, his contract with us lasts to 30th. June (ref: Transfermarkt).

According to the article below there is an obligation to buy for £8.47M (10M Euros). No doubt we'll have a sell on clause. The bugger is that Chelsea and Strasbourg are both owned by BlueCo, so there is presumably nothing to stop Chelsea buying him from Strasbourg for £8.47M, and FU to Brighton for any sell on fee.
Hopefully some expert on the rules will tell me there's a way they can't do this.

There wouldn’t be much we could do about that. Once Strasbourg sign him they can sell him to Chelsea for whatever they want even if it’s less than the original transfer fee thus negating the sell on.

However Strasbourg would still have that showing as a loss on their balance sheet. So if the French League is slightly better than the PL at stopping shady deals they might want to make the transfer go through at a more legitimate price as selling their ground back to themselves might not cut it in France.

He's always reminded me a bit of your namesake who would have looked very fetching with a little square navel cut out in his Albion jersey.. Incidentally he co-wrote Kylie Minogue's hit "Can't Get You Outta My Head". .. Rob Davis, not your namesake, whose post playing songwriting career didn't quite reach the same heady heights.

Remember Undav…..Stuttgart thought they’d got him for a bargain fee…..until Bloom exercised the small print in the deal
