Worthing
We used to have a ghost at our old house. He was a woodcutter by trade and his name was Guthrie. He wasn't the brightest of men but I would always pass the time of day with him when I found him in our back garden. He died in 1907. Our kids were terrified that they might stumble across him but they never did.

Blimey, this is just like the religion argument all over again.

Something happens that people can't explain, and rather than admit they don't know, they explain it using some old mumbo-jumbo.

It's not wrong to admit you don't know something folks!

"I was walking in the woods and saw an old bloke and when I turned round he had gone - THEREFORE HE WAS A GHOST". If you just tell it like it was and say you don't know what happened, I admit it's a boring story, but it's a lot more truthful.

"A door slammed when no-one was there - THEREFORE IT WAS A GHOST"

"I heard noises I couldn't explain in an old house _ THEREFORE IT WAS A GHOST"

For goodness sake get a grip people. You'll belive you've been visited by aliens next (yes, that is a deliberate set up for a new thread!)
