Both of them are cringeworthy and eminently quotable, but Partridge is the winner because it goes that much further than any other comedy, it's much more ingrained in my psyche, a fun 'alter ego' to tap into when the moment arises.

This really should be the final.

Almost impossible to vote on it, but if I could only watch one of these one more time I would have to say The Office. The final episode is complete perfection.

In terms of services to football Partridge would get the nod just for these gems:

"Yes...yes...yes...YES! That....was a gooooall!"
"Thrikerrr!"
"Eat THAT! And another!"
"Stick it in. Thank you, and goodnight!"
"Tw@t! That was liquid football!"
"Shit, did you see that? He must have a foot like a traction engine!"

Not to mention "Back of the net!"

Just re-watched the first series of The Office as I wanted to compare it again to Partridge which I have watched dozens of times.

I still have to maintain Partridge is superior, not by a huge amount, but I laugh far more regularly at Alan and his capers.

For me these two are my favourite comedies so would have been my final, but hope Partridge prevails in a titanic struggle.

I really can't decide here, so I'm not voting. But maybe Partridge. Just really funny, for no good reason......Just the thought of Mike Sampson makes me feel happy.

Mike: Oh. Home Sweet Home! [Mike chuckles.]

Alan: [Looking suspiciously at Mike] Yeah.

Mike: These corridors!

Alan: Yeah, they are, aren’t they- [Mike laughs and walks off. Alan looks at him, irritated. Alan enters his room to find Lynn leaving the bathroom.]

Partridge still just about holding The Office at arms length, 7 votes ahead.

Can Brent's boys make a come back? Or is this one a Foregone Conclusion? Needless to say...

The only way The Office is going to make up these 7 votes is if the entire staff of ''Peartree Productions' stumble across this thread in the next hour.

This is a toughie as I like both. The Office is arguably the most influential British comedy this side of the millennium, the downside being that not everything it has influenced has been worthwhile. David Brent is one of the great obnoxious TV comedy characters though and Martin Freeman and MacKenzie Crook give great support. But I think Partridge is awesome and the 2 series of I'm Alan Partridge remain watchable again and again, whereas I haven't had the same yearning with The Office. Smell my cheese!

We have 3 of our semi finalists:

Father Ted
Fawlty Towers
I'm Alan Partridge

Shortly to be joined by Blackadder or Porridge.

I think we all know which the winner of that one will be

How is the draw of the semis to be made?

Once again it is 1 v 3 and 2 v 4.

So...

Father Ted v I'm Alan Partridge
Fawlty Towers vs Blackadder or Porridge

A voting nightmare coming up. How the hell are we going to separate these..............

I expected this to be close, but I think The Office is too 'marmite' whereas Partridge is pretty much universally funny.

Both would be worthy winners of the round & competition.

Completely different opinion to me. What a surprise :)

I don't know anybody who finds Alan Partridge funny. Different strokes etc

For me it's a Partridge v Blackadder final but I reckon the Fawlty Towers BRIGADE will have a significant say in that.

Are we doing a third place play-off?
