Two upfront time ?

Who's talking about 2 big lumps? I just want to see different options. It's not as if we are scoring freely with one up front. 30 goals in total in the league.

I have to admit I'd like to see two up front, or perhaps a 4-2-3-1 with CMS behind Ulloa. Given that this is pretty much the first chance that Oscar has had to put out more than one striker on a regular basis I'm hopeful that he'll find a way of doing this, although if KLL and Buckley were both fit and playing well there wouldn't be such a need.

We should go 2 up front at home for sure. We will have loads of options/ combos in a couple of weeks time. Got a sneaking feeling we might see CMS on bench tomorrow.

Well he played 20 odd minutes in the DS a week ago, so he is not that far off match-playable fitness.

I'm not sure which formation is best, but I would like to see more players pushing forward when we're on the attack. Lopez, Buckley and Lualua struggle finding a team mate when there's only one or two in among the 6 defensive players, if we had more men in the box more often, there'd be a better chance one of ours gets on the end of it. But I think that is as much about the approach of the players as it is the formation.

This is how'd line our team up. It does give some flexibility in the wingers too, giving them more freedom.

If you listen to Alan Mullery the other night and he stated you need a 20+ goals a year striker with others around him chipping in. I don't want to big lumps up front and I do understand the way OG is playing at the moment with his injury woes etc but with two mobile forwards in this division it will work.
If we did go up the the way he plays now would be suited to it. IMHO

Well actually it relies on a midfielder becoming the extra attacker, rather than having a player like Barnes, who has actually played up front in his career. And over the last couple of weeks since Barnes ulloa has been isolated on his own and by all accounts getting very frustrated.

For all his detractors, Barnes was the perfect foil for ulloa and looking at CMS, he is more a chase the ball/man type player, we don not know about Rodney yet, the spuds bloke looks a bit rubbish and Hoskins will be that Barnes sort of player, but we are still not sure how he can come back after terrible injuries.

Certainly we are set up for 1 up front and I haven't seen anything in our signings, apart from Rodney that makes me thing we will change it.

Agree , Sanchez for me is a possibility we may go a bit more attacking but he needs to hit the ground running otherwise think we will persist with same formation

Let's move away from the tired old 2 striker idea which has repeatedly been shown to be inadequate and behind the times IMHO. I prefer a more fluid team, one striker, and other professional footballers being capable of shooting at the big goal.

This. For all those wanting two up-front, what you're really saying is that you want to get rid of Oscar. I don't.

I accept that, at times and especially away from home, we've been reticent in our attacking intent, but this is down to the severe injury crisis that Oscar has had to suffer. We're now in a situation where the following are fit:
Ulloa, KLL, Obika, Orlandi, SD*2, Orlandi, March
Buckley is probably a game away from returning. CMS within a month, and there's even the prospect that Hoskins might be back before the season finishes.
This is an enticing group to select a front three from.
We also have the prospect of Orlandi, Stephens, Lopez, Agustein and JFC playing in the advanced midfield positions.
What this lot need to start doing is creating and scoring goals. I think this will happen, although I'm not holding out for too many tomorrow.
After tomorrow, we've got four home games in a row. This will be the real test of Oscar's attacking intent.

Of the three I'd imagine only Rodriguez can play in a front 3, if it is indeed correct that he can play as a wide man. Ulloa will be the central figure and focal point, the 2 wider players need to be a combination of KLL, Buckley, Rodriguez and March. CMS should be used centrally also, I don't think he posseses the touch or cross to play as a wide right/left.
That means 1 striker but 3 forwards.

It will work with CMS , he just has to reprise his labrador role chasing balls into the channels
