I've done Roker but not SoL. Everton and Sunderland top of my list for next season. No doubt they'll now be Monday night or when I'm on holiday!
Ditto on all counts.

Roker Park was FREEZING the day I went in 1977. We won 2-0.

Looking forward to SoL and Everton's new ground next season.

Need to start planning - when are the fixtures out? ;)

I saw us play at the stadium of light in the early noughties. Zamora was sent off. We lost.

Edit: oh and I seem to recall @The Clown of Pevensey Bay was ver ver drunk. :lolol:
I somehow got home to Carlisle and woke up the next morning still in my shoes.

I’ve been there twice. The other game was England v Turkey in a European qualifier the previous year.

I got SOAKED. Not just a little - proper North Sea sideways rain with no roof on the small, terraced away end. We lost and their goal was a mile offside.

Set my tinny drinking personal best on the way home though so not all was lost.

That small terraced away end used to be twice as big but I think there was a safety issue and half of it had to be removed

Dramatic location though:

Edit - the safety reason referred to was that the terrace was basically held up by Meccano:

I was at the Roker Park match, Steve Piper scored one of the goals if I remember correctly.
The Sunderland fans were proper ****s after the game, spitting at, and attacking, the Albion following on the way back to the station.

The Mrs has just announced that she has booked a holiday for us in October.

Very nice of her, but I'm already concerned about what fixture(s) I'm going to have to miss.
Hoping it's a home match against Villa or Burnley, but it's bound to be an away match at either Everton, Sunderland or Bournemouth (likely to be my first shot at Tier 1)
did you not point out that the international break would be a good time to take a holiday....

So I'm guessing 🤔 they must have been one of the 3 who got relegated the year we got promoted to PL in 2017 as we missed playing them since 2004?
Hull, Middlesbrough and Sunderland were the relegated teams that year

Crikey what a grim list of towns that is

And we went top of the league that afternoon, for the first time in our history in the second tier. I was sat next to 'Tug' Winstanley's mum!
