He's spot on regarding Ranger. I can understand it if a player who gives their all, keeps his head down and works hard gets hacked off by being booed but Ranger is has no right to complain.

In terms of the "Brighton are shit" piece, I can confirm that its very much the impression I got from their fans after the game. A family were sitting next to me on the train and, when I could understand what they were saying, they were loudly proclaiming that "Brighton are shit", "Maskell-Smith (!) is rubbish", "Brighton fans are bad fans" etc etc etc. Oh, and the "Mum" was giving it the big one about getting a "Just a town full of fa**ts" chant going. So a charming bunch.

Oh, and they genuinely seemed to want to know if Ashley Baines was in any way related to Leighton...

To be honest, I just smiled, unzipped my fleece to show off my Brighton shirt and they swiftly shut up... Not sure why, mind you. I'm about as far from threatening as you can get.
Ive a foot in both camps... supported Newcastle, as my home town club, since the 1960s.... been in Brighton since 1991, and have been a season ticket holder here since 1999....

So, all I can say is, you get morons in any group of fans. The bunch you sat with have equivilant morons in any crowd. Sorry for the bad impression they gave of Newcastle fans though. Ive sat amongst the brain dead in many a crowd, including at Brighton.

Regarding Ranger ... well, my son wanted us to see the players so we went and stood by the players bus after the Cup Game at the Amex. Even though theyd been shyte for 90 minutes, (and in many cases, all season), the players ALL came over and signed autographs, shook hands etc... Perch, Krul, both Ameobis, Williamson, Bigiramana etc.... EXCEPT Nile Ranger, who sulked past and ignored everybody, and just got straight onto the bus. The difference between him and the others was stark.
I have no time for the player - hes a crap player, crap attitude, and from the sounds of todays news, a bit of a shyte alround.

Anyway - some of us geordies are alright, ya kna!

Can't remember where I saw it, but I did smile when someone on a Newcastle forum was ranting that the only thing that the Amoebi brothers brought to NUFC at the Amex was a couple of pairs of Beats/Dr Dre headphones.

"Brighton and Hove ALVION"? (1:12, 3:30, 4:52). He needs to turn up the lights, and town down the language, if he wants his points to be taken seriously IMO

"This is MY club", "We run this club" I didn't think Mike Ashley was northern.

Carried a lot of credibility until you start shouting down other teams like Brighton who not only knocked you out of the cup this year but last year too (when you were flying high in the prem and had a full strength side out)

There are good teams outside of the premiership... as im sure you'll find out week in and week out next year. So don’t be so small minded with this superior premiership shit...

We're in danger of becoming VERY moral based on the fact that he's referred to us as shit. His team lost to our team, he's not going to be all gushy when he's slating his team is he? I think we need to ease up on the guy, he's a passionate Newcastle fan who has been offended by an utter gobshite who doesn't deserve access to the City, let alone be on the books of it's football club. Or any football club, in fact. Gateshead wouldn't touch him with a barge pole either!
