Like it or loathe it All seater stadia have changed football from a pastime enjoyed by males aged between 18 and 40 to something that everyone can enjoy.

Bollox, I don't enjoy it anymore. Sitting down at football matches is crap end of. There should be no reason why there can't be a seperate area for those that want to satnd and actually make some noise.

I'm not sitting down.

The AOL Arena in Hamburg has terraces behind one of the goals, no problems there.

I prefer to stand, but will sit if asked by a steward if the people in front sit. This will not stop me from jumping up whenever the game gets exciting.

When I start to take my young son later this season/nest season I will make sure I sit at the front or to the side where we are less likely to get obstructed by people who prefer to stand.

Its the Westfalenstadion, home of Borussia Dortmund. The biggest terrace in the world.

A mate of mine has been and sent the atmosphere is just amazing, and so much better than he has heard in this country for a long time. About £6 to get in as well, no wonder they average around 80,000.

As said earlier in this thread, I will go with the flow. I have no intention of being awkward or causing a problem, but if I pay £21.00 to watch a football match, I want to see the game, not the back of someones head, and it is not my responsibilty to ensure that.

But what if you and your son get moved on to standing areas by people wanting to sit in their allocated seating at the front or near the side?

The fact is, despite many on this thread complaining about their rights to stand, the only groups of Albion fans who are losing out right now are those who want to take their young families or the elderly who find it uncomfortable to stand all game long. Why doesn't anyone speak up for them? Anyone who wants to sit seems doomed to lose out in the "I'm a better and more loyal away fan than you" argument.

The sad thing is that we are inevitably heading for allocation cuts as things are at the moment.

One sensible compromise would be to have unallocated seating, because those who wanted to stand could head for the back and those who want to sit for a variety of reasons could go towards the front.

But of course one problem with this is that unallocated seating capacities carry about 10 per cent allocation cuts under current health and safety guidelines.

That seems to happen at a lot of grounds anyway. We have seat numbers, but we're often allowed to sit where we like. Not that many clubs rigorously enforce the seating.

From where I was sitting, it looked like all the Crewe fans were standing on Saturday, but do you hear us complaining........
If we cut their allocation it wouldn't make any difference..........they only brought about 100 anyway.:lolol:

So if away fans of all clubs stand up does that mean there will be no away supporters anywhere next year?

Watch a game at Southampton next time they are on tv(????)

That's true - but don't you see these endlessly GAY arguments about people trying to get people to move because of confusion over allocated seat policy. I missed the first 10 minutes of the Roth game because there were these groups of people trying to claim the same seats in the row in front of me, each lecturing each other that they were the "true" away fans of the club
