not sure wherev is affected by train works mate , if its not affected in between east croydon and london bridge, then london bridge is your better bet.Cos i heard of train works, Havent booked train tickets yet so do u this I should go to LB then

yes there are , and they take forever, it also begs the question why you would want to avoid london bridge ?There are direct trains from Victoria to South Bermondsey, thereby avoiding London Bridge. They leave at 11 and 41 past the hour.
