Depending on the time, and whether the bus from Firle is punctual, I might start from Glynde.

Then by rail
Seaford to Lewes
Lewes to East Croydon (Southern Rail)
Exit East Croydon
Enter East Croydon to activate Oyster Card
East Croydon to London Bridge (FCC)
Exit London Bridge
Stroll around Market and go to only pub in London.
London Bridge to South Bermondsy (Southern Rail)

Then, snakes alive, I'll have to try and get home. Will I make it?

not sure wherev is affected by train works mate , if its not affected in between east croydon and london bridge, then london bridge is your better bet.

yes there are , and they take forever, it also begs the question why you would want to avoid london bridge ?

Just for anyone who is taking kids, travel card for kids on a Saturday is only a pound
