You talk sense.
The last time I viewed the Albion accounts, £7m of losses had been bank rolled personally by Knight, Fatboy, & others.
Other than Fatboy, for the others were NOT mega-rich.
Would any of you do that, with zero guarantee of return (No TB in the pipeline or planning permission)?

And the £7m was spent on planning experts, barristers etc ... fighting the enemies of Falmer,
buying land of the likes of Bton Univ
and subsidising players and promotions, that otherwise we would never have had, based on tiny crowds income.
Sales of Barry, Virgo & Zamora also subsidised survival & promotions.

Conclusion:
Well done to the old owners for fighting the old Board crooks, pumping in at risk your cash, fighting and winning Falmer, and giving us those promotions against financial odds.
Same to the amazing TB for delivering, in totally different circumstances, a great stadium, manager, squad & future.

Everyone should appreciate what DK did for this, the blood sweat and tears he put into this club to enable it to be where it is today, we ALL owe the man a huge debt.

Have they been reapid/will they be repaid? or is it all converted to shares?

Thinking back, we bemoaned our misfortune at having been through planning and submitted applications and most thought the club was ready to get the green light for Falmer, only to get set back again by years. When we take a look at that now, were we not actually fortunate that those claims WERE turned down?
If we HAD been bank-loaned back then, I think it's possible we'd have a slightly 'more modest' squad and a less ambitious management. By the time we paid back loan debt, it would probably have been more expensive than the 100+ million estimated currently!

It's clear we also dodged a bullet when Gold and Sullivan were stalled in selling Birmingham City F.C. They'd have been pulling for interest on THEIR money in the club!

There are times when setbacks can be all in the best interests of a future - and therein lies a lesson for life ???

I hadn't thought of that but, yes, we owe a lot to Baker, DeVecchi, Cuttress etc. Without them, we'd have a worse stadium and heaps of bank debt. Hope they appreciate that they helped build it.

By the same token, we should be grateful that Slade got off to such a dodgy start in 2009 - if he'd continued his previous season's form, we might have got promoted but with a much worse squad.

It's strange to think that in alternative universe, we're playing in brand new stadium (not quite as good as the one we have), with lots of bank debt (not that we're worried), limping along in the Championship (and thinking we're well off).

In that parallel universe though, our modest struggling will see us as another hopeful club trying to draw crowds of up to 10,000 to watch a team of devoted tryers who always fell just a little short of expectations and occasionally lost to fellow predicted relegation-candidates. Praying that we could stay up and maintain funds to buy an occasional player and hoping that the next Jake Robinson was just on the verge.
Forster manages well, although tales of arguments for captaincy of the team between el-Abd and Fraser abound.

Chairmen Knight Gold and Sullivan announce losses, as they set the percentage they'd need to take from what's left, after bank loan repayments are settled.

This, while Crawley Town compete with us for crowds, meaning that much of North Sussex is distracted away to the high-flying League 2 outfit.

Comparatively depressing isn't it!

I think that we'd a bit better than that (we'd certainly get better than 10k crowds for example) but, yes, funding would be tough and Crawley would be much of a threat. Forster's a good call too.

Imagine if we got relegated in this parallel universe and Crawley promoted so we'd both be in the same division.
