If McGhee goes in that list, so should Taylor. I don't think either should.

Maybe a bit harsh but, Norman Cook? Surely he's in the same bracket as Des Lynham in that he added a bit more publicity to our appeals. I know 'Skint' sponsored us, but sponsors aren't impossible to find.

We were about to be wound up when he stepped in and, I understand, paid over the going rate to have Skint put on the shirts. I don't think there was exactly a queue of other willing sponsors at the time either.

But Norman Cook doesn't own skint. He may have persuaded them to sponsor us, and I'm sure along the way he's given us a helping hand, but it wasn't him sponsoring us. Skint are a locally based record label, so they may well have a Brighton fan or 2 within the decision makers.

Ok I guess this is probably about right taking into account everyone's comments. Makes sense to stick Watto in there.

My only comments would be that if Cullip and Watson are there, Oatway is a bit hard done by to be left out. Oatway was a fantastic player for us in a successful period, like Watson and Cullip. Cullip has the captaincy string to add to his bow, but what Oatway is doing for the club now would certainly add to the cause for him to be on the list. Watson is one of my favourite players to play for us, so I won't argue to strongly against him, however he doesn't deserve to take Oatway's place.

Also, see my point above regarding McGhee and Taylor. I would replace McGhee with Gary Hart.

I'd rather Leon Knight wasn't there, but he did score some important goals.

If we're talking club not team, then Atilla and Paul Samrah have to be in there. Remember the Stockbroker getting up on top of the players' tunnel at the Goldstone at the game against, err ... was it Southend? I think that if that hadn't happened, the shape of things might be very different now, with Albion playing in the County League and groundsharing with Whitehawk. Of course, somebody else might have taken on his role, but history is full of disasters that happened while everyone waited for someone else to do something ...

What did Gary Hart do apart from sitting on his arse collecting a pay cheque every month ? Didn't score any goals that made a difference unlike say Leon Knight or Adam Virgo

Spent all his time here getting a nice collection of CHAMPIONS medals

True - but let's focus on the guys who were acting purely in the interests of the club!

well, without what they did we wouldn't have Falmer now (not that I am condoning their actions)

really, i must have missed that. No talk of being wound up in 1999 as far as I was aware. Lots of talk about it being areal possibility in 1995-1996

That was the bereted BUFFOON trying to get Barry LLoyd the SACK not protesting about ANYTHING else. The ONLY thing Atilla WILL be remembered for is WELCHING on a bet

Don't get me wrong - what Reinelt did ultimately saved the club from total despair and for that we should be forever grateful, but it was a single moment rather than a prolonged spell of contributing continuously to the clubs fortunes. Samrah probably should be in though.

I agree. If Reinelts in then what about Storer?

Harsh.

He'll also be remembered for tiresome self indulgent poetry and anti-establishment music from a previous generation.

What the f***? Every bit as much of a yes as Dick Knight. Without Bloom, we'd be a noddy club like Southend or Bournemouth FOREVER.

but bloom has always just been an alternative source of finance. Saying he's a hero is like saying that you bank manager is doing something HEROIC by approving your cheque. Don't get me wrong I am fu;ll of admiration for what he has done in the last 18 months but .... so far all he has been is the final cog in the wheel to bail us out when the original funding plan went tits up and needed a tweak . falling back on his largesse was always an option.

Where was he in 96, 97,98,99 2000 (I could go on) when we needed people to stand up and be counted? Playing poker? We were playing Russian Roulette!

Ridiculous. He's doing a little bit more than just signing a cheque isn't he? He's given an interest free loan of £100m to the club when nobody else would. And if the club goes bust, he's got a £100m white elephant on his hands THAT HE PAID FOR.
